Job description

VetsEZ is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to support a large federal healthcare technology program. In this role, you will implement and maintain CI/CD automation, secure delivery controls, cloud infrastructure support, and release engineering practices that enable reliable software delivery. You will collaborate with developers, testers, and platform engineers to improve speed, security, and operational stability.

The candidate must reside within the continental US.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application builds, testing, packaging, and deployment.
  • Implement automation for environment provisioning, release workflows, and operational tasks.
  • Support secure delivery practices including code scanning, dependency checks, secrets handling, and policy enforcement.
  • Troubleshoot build, deployment, and environment issues across multiple applications and services.
  • Work with developers and QA teams to improve release quality, deployment reliability, and cycle time.
  • Support cloud-based infrastructure and shared platform services in coordination with senior engineers and architects.
  • Maintain documentation for pipelines, release procedures, environment configurations, and support processes.
  • Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Monitor system and pipeline performance and recommend improvements to tooling and workflow efficiency.
  • Support change management and release readiness activities for production and non-production environments.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in DevOps, build and release engineering, systems administration, or cloud operations.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar.
  • Familiarity with AWS services, scripting, Linux administration, and automation concepts.
  • Experience with containers, artifact repositories, and deployment tooling.
  • Understanding of DevSecOps principles and secure delivery practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues across environments, pipelines, and deployments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across development, QA, security, and operations teams.
  • Ability to obtain a Government clearance.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting federal programs or secure cloud environments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with healthcare integration platforms or regulated delivery environments is a plus.
  • Exposure to Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, and observability tooling is desirable.
  • Relevant AWS, security, or DevOps certifications are a plus.
  • Experience using Jira, Confluence, and Git-based collaboration tools is preferred.
