Responsibilities:

  1. Deploys the release of new technologies as well as designs, installs, configures, maintains and performs system integration testing of PC/server operating systems, related utilities and hardware.
  2. Responsible for trouble shooting server problems as reported by users. 
  3. Researches, evaluates and recommends software and hardware products. 
  4. Supports Web access and electronic messaging services and maintains a secure systems environment. 
  5. Provides new hardware specifications to users based on application needs and anticipated growth, installs new servers and maintains the server infrastructure.

Technical Skills:

  1. File Transfer Protocols: SFTP, FTP/FTPS, HTTP/HTTPS
  2. MFT Platforms: Experience with tools like IBM Sterling File Gateway, Axway, Sterling Secure Proxy, Sterling Connect Direct
  3. Scripting: Shell scripting (Bash), PowerShell, Python, or Perl for automation
  4. Operating Systems: Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows Server administration
  5. Networking: Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, load balancers, and network security
  6. Databases: Basic SQL knowledge for querying transfer logs/status
  7. Security: PGP/GPG encryption, SSH key management, certificate management (SSL/TLS)
  8. Scheduling Tools: Experience with job schedulers (e.g., Control-M, AutoSys, Cron)

  6. ITIL Foundation (useful for ticketing/change management environments)
  7. Certifications in relevant OS platforms (Linux, Microsoft)

  3. Ability to work under pressure during outages or failed transfer incidents
