About the Position
We are seeking a Building Automation Engineer to develop and implement building automation systems across HVAC and electrical automation projects.
This position will contribute to project execution through programming, system integration, commissioning, control drawings, submittals, and system documentation. The role is fully remote, allowing the successful candidate to work from home anywhere in Wisconsin, with travel to project sites as needed.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, program, and implement building automation and HVAC control systems.
  • Support system integration, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Interpret mechanical, electrical, and control drawings.
  • Develop and review control drawings, submittals, and project documentation.
  • Assist with system troubleshooting and technical problem-solving.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, technicians, and other project stakeholders.
  • Support project execution from design through commissioning and turnover.
  • Stay current with building automation technologies and industry standards.

Requirements
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, HVAC Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience with building automation, HVAC controls, or a related technical field.
  • Ability to understand HVAC systems, electrical systems, and low-voltage controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and control drawings.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn:
    • Building Automation Systems (BAS)
    • BACnet
    • Tridium/Niagara
    • Distech
    • Honeywell
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Must reside in Wisconsin.
