Job description

Company Overview

Docusign brings agreements to life. Over 1.5 million customers and more than a billion people in over 180 countries use Docusign solutions to accelerate the process of doing business and simplify people's lives. With intelligent agreement management, Docusign unleashes business-critical data that is trapped inside of documents. Until now, these were disconnected from business systems of record, costing businesses time, money, and opportunity. Using Docusign's Intelligent Agreement Management platform, companies can create, commit, and manage agreements with solutions created by the #1 company in e-signature and contract lifecycle management (CLM).

What you'll do

Docusign is seeking a Software Engineer to work on the next generation of our Search and Data Platform. As part of the Intelligent Agreement Management (IAM) initiative, our team is transitioning customer-facing reporting and search capabilities to a modern, highly scalable cloud data platform. You will move beyond standard feature development to build the distributed infrastructure that allows millions of users to instantly discover, filter, and analyze their agreements. We are looking for a builder who has experience with modern search frameworks, distributed systems, and solving "never-been-done-before" problems at scale. You will work closely with product leaders from proof-of-concept to V1 release, ensuring our solutions are fault-tolerant, secure, and blazingly fast.

This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Sr. Manager, Machine Learning.

Responsibility

  • Build fault-tolerant, high-throughput search systems using microservices architecture

  • Lead the implementation and optimization of search clusters to ensure sub-second query performance across petabytes of data

  • Develop and deploy scalable services in Azure, leveraging containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code

  • Collaborate with Product Management to translate business requirements into technical designs, drive implementation, write ample test coverage, and oversee the release process

  • Conduct code reviews, and work with cross-site teams to drive engineering best practices

  • Identify and resolve production issues, ensuring 99.99% availability for critical search services

  • 1+ years of experience with distributed data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Kafka)

  • 1+ years of experience building services in public cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or GCP)

Preferred

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field

  • Direct involvement in the design and operation of high-availability SaaS platforms (99.9%+ uptime)
