Position Summary and Responsibilities

This position supports students in Grades 9–12 with a focus on Computer Science, Technology, Career Pathways, and College & Career Readiness. Teachers may work remotely from within the state of Arkansas or from the Bentonville office, as assigned. 

The High School Career Pathways & Computer Science Teacher will virtually design, deliver, and manage instructional programs that prepare students for postsecondary education, industry certifications, and workforce opportunities. The teacher will support students in developing technical, academic, and employability skills through pathway-aligned coursework and real-world learning experiences. 

Using digital tools, web conferencing platforms, and individualized instruction, the teacher will guide students through a coherent sequence of pathway courses while helping them explore career interests, develop technical competencies, and prepare for successful transitions beyond high school. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Deliver engaging synchronous and asynchronous instruction in Computer Science, Coding, Information Technology, Career Pathways, and related CTE courses for Grades 9–12 
  • Support students in developing technical, academic, and workplace readiness skills aligned with Arkansas College and Career Readiness Standards 
  • Guide students through pathway-aligned coursework, including Level I, Level II, and Level III pathway completion requirements 
  • Develop and implement project-based learning experiences that incorporate real-world applications and career connections 
  • Support students pursuing industry-recognized certifications, dual credit opportunities, and other career-focused learning experiences 
  • Integrate career exploration, workforce readiness, and postsecondary planning into instruction 
  • Complete grading, progress monitoring, and student feedback in a timely manner 
  • Develop and update Student Success Plan in collaboration with students, families, counselors, and support staff 
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and increase student mastery 
  • Provide individualized support and academic intervention as needed 
  • Maintain accurate student records, attendance documentation, and communication logs 
  • Collaborate with counselors, advisory teachers, and instructional staff to ensure student success 
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents/learning coaches, and school personnel regarding academic progress and pathway completion 
  • Support virtual community-building activities, career awareness events, pathway initiatives, and school outreach efforts 
  • Participate in state testing administration, professional development, and school events as required 
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

                                Requirements

                                • Valid Arkansas teaching certification appropriate to Grades 9–12 and subject area 
                                • Arkansas Computer Science endorsement (528) preferred 
                                • Certification or demonstrated experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Career and Technical Education (CTE), or related fields preferred 
                                • Strong understanding of college and career readiness, career pathways, workforce development, and CTE instruction 
                                • Must reside within the State of Arkansas (or within approved distance requirements) 
                                • Strong technology skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and virtual learning platforms 
                                • Ability to deliver effective virtual instruction and manage online learning environments 
                                • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
                                • Student-centered mindset with strong relationship-building skills 
                                • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced virtual environment 
                                • Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and problem-solving skills 
                                • Willingness to travel occasionally for state testing, school events, outreach activities, or professional meetings 
                                • Ability to work remotely and support occasional evening hours when needed 
                                • Ability to use a personal electronic device and email for two-step authentication
