Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate clients' backgrounds, trauma history, and unique needs.
• Develop individualized treatment plans that focus on trauma recovery, resilience-building, and long-term mental health goals.
• Deliver evidence-based therapies such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and other modalities suited to each client’s situation.
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions to assist clients in processing trauma, developing healthy coping strategies, and fostering emotional healing.
• Collaborate actively with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to client care.
• Provide crisis intervention services and immediate support during trauma-related emergencies, advising clients on coping methods and resources available to them.
• Educate clients and their families about trauma responses and effective coping mechanisms in a clear and compassionate manner.
• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of client interactions and treatment outcomes in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Engage in regular case consultations, team meetings, and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills in trauma-informed care.
• Stay updated on the latest research, therapy methodologies, and best practices in trauma therapy to continuously improve client care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily focus on adults and adolescents grappling with the lasting effects of trauma. Many clients come to us seeking assistance for issues such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other trauma-related disorders. This role provides you with the unique opportunity to offer hope and healing to individuals through targeted therapeutic techniques, helping them reclaim their lives from the shadows of trauma.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LCP, LCPC, or LCMFT in the state of Kansas is essential.
• Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care, including familiarity with trauma-related disorders and resilience-building strategies.
• Experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a compassionate and non-judgmental approach to client interactions.
• The ability to remain composed and professional in high-stress situations, displaying confidence in crisis management.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and general computer applications is important for documentation and communication.
• A team-oriented mindset with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Experience

While a minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, candidates with relevant internships or field placements within trauma care settings are encouraged to apply. Specific experience with evidence-based trauma therapies will be highly regarded.

Compensation and Benefits
