Summary

The position will evaluate and perform financial analysis to support Chugach’s reporting, planning, forecasting and financial management.

Essential Functions

  1. Prepare and analyze financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements and cashflow statements.

  2. Assist in the development and maintenance financial reporting systems and processes.

  3. Assist with research and documentation of technical accounting and financial reporting requirements under Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).

  4. Prepare presentation materials for stakeholders and management.

  5. Provide support for audits.

  6. Develop budget status and financial report to be used internally and by outside organizations.

  7. Support budgeting and forecasting processes. Coordinate with internal teams to gather necessary financial data.

  8. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in financial planning and analysis

  9. Conduct variance analysis and identify key drivers of performance. Analyze financial data and performance metrics to provide actionable insights.

  10. Provide technical support and training to other team members.

  11. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial data collection and analysis.

  12. Conduct analysis of operating data compared to projected cost ratios and evaluate accuracy.

  13. Support continuous improvement and operational efficiency by identifying areas of opportunity and sharing recommendations with management.

  14. Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a standard office environment. Some travel to remote sites may be required. This position requires some overtime and travel to meetings or conferences outside of the state.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or Economics or related discipline, required. Specialized training in computer science, financial management and economics, preferred. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA), preferred.
