Company Overview

Paragon Store Fixtures is a premier manufacturer of custom retail environments and high-end millwork. Based in our Big Lake, MN facility, we partner with global brands to deliver complex, high-quality fixtures. We are looking for a Senior Designer with 5+ years of experience to lead technical projects and mentor the next generation of drafting talent.


Role Summary

As a Senior Designer, you will be responsible for the engineering and technical development of our most complex projects. You will translate high-level architectural designs into robust, manufacturable solutions while overseeing the work of junior drafting staff. This role requires a master-level understanding of Autodesk Inventor and the ability to solve intricate engineering challenges before they reach the production floor.


Key Responsibilities

-Lead Engineering: Own the technical lifecycle of high-end millwork projects, from initial architectural review to final shop drawing release.

-Mentorship: Supervise and develop entry-level drafters, providing technical guidance, reviewing their Inventor models, and ensuring they understand project requirements.

-Advanced Modeling: Create sophisticated 3D models and assemblies in Autodesk Inventor, ensuring full integration of wood, metal, glass, and electrical components.

-Architectural Liaison: Interpret and deconstruct complex architectural drawing sets, identifying potential conflicts and providing value-engineering solutions.

-Process Improvement: Assist in the development of CAD standards, SOPs, and automated workflows to improve departmental efficiency.

-Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Project Managers and Shop Leads to ensure designs are optimized for budget, schedule, and facility capabilities.


Qualifications & Requirements

-Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in millwork design, cabinetry engineering, or store fixture manufacturing.

-Technical Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.

-Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of wood construction, joinery, veneer application, and the integration of diverse materials.

-Leadership: Proven ability to listen, mentor, and effectively communicate technical concepts to junior staff and non-technical stakeholders.

-On-site Presence: Must be available to work on-site at our Big Lake facility to support the production team and mentor staff in person.

-Hybrid/Remote: Possible for the right candidate.


Preferred Skills

-High proficiency with Woodwork for Inventor (W4I).

-Experience managing data and lifecycles within Autodesk Vault.

-Ability to write or utilize iLogic or Python scripts for workflow automation.

-Strong background in CNC manufacturing processes and limitations.
