Job description

Position Title: Sr. Site Reliability Engineer
Location: Remote (near Richmond, VA; Charlotte, NC; Baltimore, MD; Boston, MA; New York City, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Cleveland, OH; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; St. Louis, MO; Minneapolis, MN; Kansas City, MO; Dallas, TX; San Francisco, CA)
Pay Rate: $85+/hr D.O.E.
Position Description:
Join a pivotal team supporting the nation's central bank as a Sr. Site Reliability Engineer. This remote role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with leading technology professionals in strengthening economic and financial systems. You will leverage your expertise in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, and Systems Engineering to design, develop, and maintain reliable, scalable systems. Your work will ensure operational excellence through automation, incident management, security adherence, and continuous improvement initiatives. This 18-month contract may extend or convert to a permanent position, offering a chance to impact critical national infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and maintain resilient, scalable systems ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Develop automation solutions to reduce manual tasks, improve efficiency, and minimize operational toil.
  • Manage incident response, proactively monitoring systems, triage, and resolve production issues swiftly.
  • Lead root cause analysis, post-mortem reviews, and corrective action implementation to prevent recurrence of issues.
  • Integrate security principles into operational practices, maintaining compliance and vulnerability management.
  • Collaborate across teams using Agile methodologies, participating in SAFe frameworks, with on-call rotations included.
  • Document workflows, system architectures, and procedures using Visio or Draw.io to ensure clarity and maintainability.

Top Requirements:
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in Unix/Linux systems, middleware (Java-based Middleware/MQ), databases, SRE, or orchestration and CI/CD automation.
  • Proven automation expertise with scripting and tooling to streamline workflows.
  • Strong background in incident management, on-call practices, and security best practices.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, network infrastructure-including firewalls, load balancers, routing, switches-and server hardware.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
