This position is designed for both full-time and part-time Licensed Professional Counselors, offering flexible hours based on appointment schedules. You will be part of an outpatient office that emphasizes collaboration within a multidisciplinary team. As a remote role, you will utilize modern telehealth technology to provide services, ensuring that our patients receive care in a familiar and comfortable environment while maintaining professionalism and adherence to ethical guidelines.

The Licensed Professional Counselor will undertake a variety of responsibilities that directly impact patient care and organizational effectiveness, including:

• Assisting primary care providers in identifying, treating, and managing mental health and psychosocial concerns as a key member of the primary care team.
• Conducting comprehensive patient intakes, which include detailed diagnostic and functional evaluations, followed by recommendations for treatment goals and plans.
• Delivering brief and focused interventions for patients requiring mental health services, ensuring timely and effective support.
• Consulting with primary care providers to discern which patients are best suited for primary care settings and which should be referred to specialized mental health facilities.
• Initiating follow-up interactions with patients to monitor progress and adjust treatment strategies as necessary.
• Developing relapse prevention strategies and assisting patients in maintaining stable functioning.
• Detecting at-risk patients and crafting intervention plans to avert further deterioration of their conditions.
• Coordinating patient health services concerning behavioral healthcare, linking with additional treatment providers with patient consent.
• Maintaining detailed documentation of patient progress, adhering to best practices in record-keeping for treatment charts.
• Informing primary care providers of patients' evolving needs and progress to collaboratively formulate effective treatment plans.
• Promoting healthy lifestyle changes in patients at risk for physical disorders, enhancing their overall well-being.
• Empowering patients by providing self-management skills and educational resources to facilitate their active participation in treatment and recovery.
• Collaborating with clinic management and team members on behavioral services and contributing to program evaluation efforts.
• Supporting patients in complying with medical treatments initiated by primary care providers, providing coping strategies for medication side effects.
• Adhering strictly to the Code of Ethical Conduct for Clinical Professionals.
• Performing other designated tasks as required to support clinic operations.

Your key responsibilities will include working with a diverse patient population, including individuals facing complex mental health issues, emotional distress, and psychosocial challenges. Serving this population requires sensitivity and an understanding of the unique challenges they navigate, as well as the ability to build rapport and trust to facilitate meaningful therapeutic relationships. The ideal counselor will be adept at addressing the multifaceted needs of patients, leveraging evidence-based practices to improve their overall mental health outcomes.

To succeed in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications:

• A Master’s Degree in Clinical Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A current and valid Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) License.
• A strong foundational knowledge in mental health assessment methodologies, treatment planning, and psychotherapeutic techniques.
• Familiarity with developmental psychopathology and effective family and group therapy methods.
• Demonstrated skills in conducting comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and formulating effective treatment strategies.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly in both verbal and written formats.

While not required, the following experience will enhance a candidate’s application:

• Proficiency in both English and Spanish, which may facilitate better communication with a broader patient demographic.
• A thorough understanding of community resources and their application to enhance patient care.
• Prior experience in coordinating multidisciplinary healthcare teams or working within integrated care environments.
• Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation and patient tracking.

Big Leap Family Guidance Centers offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 87,000 to 105,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to a robust compensation package, we also provide a SIGN-ON BONUS as an incentive for new team members.
