To thrive as a Remote Cloud Developer, you need strong programming skills (such as Python, Java, or Node.js), experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, and often a relevant degree or certifications. Familiarity with tools like Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-specific services (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions) is typically required. Excellent problem-solving, self-motivation, and clear communication are crucial soft skills for remote collaboration and project delivery. These skills ensure the effective development, deployment, and maintenance of scalable cloud solutions in distributed work environments.

What does a remote cloud developer do?

A Remote Cloud Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining applications and services that run on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. They work remotely to create scalable, secure, and efficient solutions using cloud technologies, often collaborating with teams through online tools. How do remote cloud developers collaborate with distributed teams and manage project communication?

Remote Cloud Developers frequently work with geographically dispersed teams, making effective communication and collaboration essential. Experian invests in people and new advanced technologies to unlock the power of data. We have an amazing team of 25,200 people in 32 countries.

Job Description

Overview

As the senior technical authority for the DevX platform, you will define how AI-native software delivery works across the organization. You will connect core developer platform capabilities—such as CI/CD, Backstage, cloud landing zones, and software supply chain security—with AI agents, orchestration, governance, and enterprise knowledge systems. You will influence teams across engineering, security, and business units by setting technical direction and building working examples that others can adopt.

This is a Remote position. You will report to the EVP of Developer Experience & AI Tooling

You will have opportunity to:

  • Set the end-to-end architecture for agentic software delivery, the developer portal, and the governed AI marketplace.
  • Build reference implementations for agent orchestration, AI governance, Knowledge Graph grounding, and agent-enabled golden paths.
  • Establish the internal AI architecture that makes governed model access, policy enforcement, and usage control the default across all developer AI tooling and agents.
  • Define platform standards for SDKs, connectors, MCP servers, plugins, agents, and marketplace contributions.
  • Partner with Security Engineering on SLSA provenance, SBOMs, policy-as-code, and AI supply chain controls.
  • Connect CI/CD, cloud landing zones, Backstage, and AI capabilities into one secure developer platform.
  • Resolve technical decisions that span platform, AI, security, and business unit engineering teams.
  • Represent the platform's technical direction with senior leaders, engineering teams, and external industry audiences.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of technology experience
  • 3+ years as a Senior Architect or equivalent technical leadership role
  • Recent hands-on experience building both developer platforms and AI-native engineering systems.
  • Experience designing and operating enterprise-scale internal developer platforms.
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines, golden paths, and cloud-native landing zones.
  • Production experience with agent orchestration, agentic workflows, and SDLC agents.
  • Experience with enterprise retrieval, grounding, Knowledge Graphs, and prompt and context engineering.
  • Experience integrating AI tools through MCP servers, connectors, APIs, or similar frameworks.
  • Experience implementing SLSA, SBOMs, policy-as-code, and secure software supply chain practices.
