Cloud FinOps Architect
The Opportunity:
Everyone is trying to harness the cloud, but managing cloud investments effectively requires more than simply moving workloads to the cloud. As a Lead Cloud FinOps Architect, you know how to bring together cloud architecture, financial operations, data, and automation to help organizations maximize the value of their cloud investments. What if you could use your cloud and FinOps expertise to improve Public Health data modernization? We need you to help develop the capabilities needed to provide transparency into cloud costs, optimize resources, and support strategic technology decisions for some of Public Health's toughest challenges.
On our team, you'll serve as a senior technical leader, defining the technical vision and roadmap for cloud financial operations. You'll lead a multidisciplinary team of cloud engineers, data architects, and analysts while designing and implementing scalable capabilities for cloud cost management, governance, reporting, forecasting, and automation. Your technical expertise will be vital as you translate business and financial objectives into technical strategies and collaborate with cloud, data, engineering, and business stakeholders to improve the value and efficiency of cloud investments.
You'll architect solutions that provide visibility into cloud expenses, usage patterns, and financial trends across business units and departments. You'll leverage cloud billing data, FOCUS data, billing APIs, cost and usage reports, and financial models to identify optimization opportunities and support forecasting and strategic planning. You'll also lead the development of dashboards, reporting pipelines, and automated capabilities that enable leadership to make informed decisions about cloud investments. This position is located in Atlanta, GA.

You Have:
  • 10+ years of experience in technical roles such as IT, software development, cloud architecture, DevOps, or enterprise architecture
  • 6+ years of experience in cloud architecture, DevOps, FinOps engineering, or cloud financial operations roles
  • Experience architecting and implementing cloud cost management, optimization, governance, reporting, or automation solutions
  • Experience with cloud billing models, cost optimization strategies, FinOps principles, and cost allocation or chargeback models
  • Experience designing dashboards and reporting solutions using tools such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Experience with cloud billing APIs, tagging strategies, usage analytics, and cloud cost and usage reports and using SQL to query, analyze, and transform cloud cost and usage data
  • Experience with AWS and Microsoft Azure cloud-native architectures
  • Ability to communicate complex technical and financial concepts to technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience building or leading a Cloud Business Office (CBO) or Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE)
  • Experience with Microsoft's FinOps Toolkit and developing custom cloud financial reporting
  • Experience supporting regulated environments such as public sector or healthcare
  • Experience applying AI/ML, predictive analytics, or advanced analytics to cloud cost optimization
  • Experience supporting Public Health organizations
  • Knowledge of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention business models
  • Master's degree in a Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or Finance field
  • FinOps Certified Practitioner or Advanced Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
