Job description

Role: Senior Network Engineer – VoIP / Unified Communications

Location: Chicago, IL – Onsite

Salary: $125,000 -$140,000 / year

Benefits: This role is eligible for health, medical, retirement, generous time off.

I’m conducting a confidential search for a Senior Network Engineer – VoIP / Unified Communications for a highly respected Chicago organization undergoing a significant modernization of its technology infrastructure.

This is a great opportunity for a hands-on enterprise voice engineer who wants to work in a large, complex, mission-critical environment while helping modernize the infrastructure supporting the organization.

We are not looking for someone who simply administers phones. We need an engineer who understands enterprise voice AND the network behind it and can independently troubleshoot difficult problems.

What You'll Work With:

  • Enterprise VoIP / Voice infrastructure
  • Avaya or comparable enterprise voice platforms
  • VoIP PBX
  • SIP trunking
  • Call Center / Contact Center technologies
  • e911, eFax and voicemail
  • QoS and enterprise networking
  • IDF / Data Center infrastructure
  • Cisco networking technologies

What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years of enterprise VoIP / Voice Engineering experience
  • Strong hands-on Avaya or comparable voice platform experience
  • Strong SIP and VoIP troubleshooting skills
  • Understanding of networking and QoS as they relate to voice
  • Experience supporting large, complex enterprise environments
  • Ability to independently diagnose and resolve difficult technical issues
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Healthcare experience is helpful but not required

This organization is investing significantly in its infrastructure and technology environment, making this an opportunity to join during a period of real modernization and change rather than simply maintaining legacy technology.

Important: This is primarily an onsite position in downtown Chicago/Streeterville five days per week. There can be some flexibility based upon business needs, but candidates should not consider this a remote position.

Interested? Message me directly for confidential details.
