Chat and Change Counseling, LLC is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Therapist (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT) to join our team in Overland Park, Kansas. As a full-time therapist, you will play an essential role in providing specialized mental health care to individuals affected by trauma, particularly those struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders.

As a Licensed Mental Health Therapist, your key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' trauma histories and identify their needs for appropriate treatment.
• Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans with clear goals focused on trauma recovery and resilience-building.
• Utilizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), tailored to the client's needs.
• Delivering both individual therapy and group therapy sessions designed to help clients process their trauma, build coping strategies, and promote healing.
• Collaborating closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure that clients receive comprehensive and integrated care.
• Providing immediate crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies, contributing to the safety and well-being of clients.
• Educating patients and their families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available resources for recovery.
• Maintaining accurate, confidential records in accordance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring high quality documentation practices.
• Participating in case consultations, collaborative team meetings, and ongoing professional development activities centered on trauma-informed care.
• Keeping abreast of the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy to enhance the quality of care.

In this role, you will work with a diverse population of clients primarily dealing with trauma-related conditions. Your expertise will be crucial in helping these individuals navigate their healing journeys. You will work with clients experiencing a range of challenges, specifically those impacted by complex trauma and PTSD, providing tailored interventions that facilitate their recovery process.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Kansas.
• A strong understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment modalities.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with a focus on empathy, active listening, and a non-judgmental approach towards clients.
• Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant computer applications to maintain client records efficiently.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing insights and innovations to improve care delivery.

We prefer candidates who have at least 2 years of post-licensure experience, demonstrating a proven track record of delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions. Knowledge of resilience-building approaches and familiarity with evidence-based practices in trauma therapy will be highly valued.
