Chat and Change Counseling, LLC is actively seeking a dedicated Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our innovative team. • Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate each patient's unique trauma history, symptoms, and needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that are tailored to foster recovery, incorporating evidence-based modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
• Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions to help clients navigate their trauma narratives, develop effective coping strategies, and cultivate resilience.
• Work in collaboration with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to develop an integrated approach to client care, ensuring all therapeutic interventions align with patient goals.
• Provide crisis intervention and immediate support during trauma-related emergencies, utilizing your expertise to help clients stabilize and regain a sense of safety.
• Educate clients and their support systems on trauma responses and effective coping mechanisms, equipping them with tools to understand their healing journey.
• Maintain precise, secure, and confidential documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring compliance with best practices in record-keeping.
• Engage in regular case consultations, participate in ongoing training, and stay abreast of contemporary research and methodologies in trauma-informed care.

As a Licensed Mental Health Therapist at Chat and Change Counseling, you will primarily work with individuals who have experienced significant trauma. This includes those with PTSD, complex trauma, and various dissociative disorders. You will help clients process their experiences, navigate their emotional responses, and cultivate resilience in a safe, empathetic environment. The populations served may include adults, children, and families affected by trauma, providing a varied and fulfilling client mix that enhances therapeutic work.

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• A current, valid license as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Kansas is mandatory.
• Minimum of 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience is preferred, with a strong preference for candidates who are experienced in trauma-focused therapeutic interventions.
• Comprehensive understanding of trauma-related disorders and familiarity with trauma-informed treatment modalities.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a compassionate, non-judgmental approach.
• Adeptness at managing high-stress situations with calmness and poise.
• Proficient in the use of electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant software for efficient practice management.
• A strong collaborative spirit, with the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

While 2 years of post-licensure experience is preferred, candidates with extensive internship or practicum experience in trauma-focused care may also be considered.
