Key Responsibilities

As a Virtual Mental Health Counselor, your role encompasses a variety of essential responsibilities, including:

• Developing and implementing personalized treatment plans that integrate both traditional therapeutic techniques as well as holistic approaches tailored specifically to the needs of cancer patients.
• Conducting counseling sessions remotely, providing individual, couple, family, and group therapy sessions as necessary to address the diverse needs of clients.
• Employing evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), along with mindfulness practices and other innovative methods to assist clients in managing stress and emotional difficulties.
• Maintaining a thorough understanding of recent research and developments in mental health treatment, ensuring that your practice adheres to the most effective and contemporary guidelines.
• Upholding strict confidentiality and compliance with ethical guidelines at all times, safeguarding the trust placed in us by our clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on supporting cancer patients, addressing their unique psychosocial needs at various stages of their treatment and survivorship. Working empathetically with these patients, you will help them cope with emotional trauma, fear of recurrence, and the psychological impact of their health challenges, providing a safe space for expression and healing.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).
• No history of medical malpractice claims as verified by a third-party source.
• Authorization to work in the U.S.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, candidates with prior experience in oncology mental health care or those who have worked with chronic illness populations will be especially valued in this role. Familiarity with telehealth practices and technologies will also enhance your ability to connect effectively with our clients.

Compensation and Benefits
