This isn't your typicaljob ad, and we're not looking for your typical sales person. Interested?Let's dig in.

1 Who we are

GMV is a multinational group with global presence indifferent high-tech sectors. In the US, our company was originally founded asSyncromatics in 2006 and joined GMV Global in 2015. We specialize in all thingstechnical for public transit systems. This means we design, manufacture, andmanage all kinds of different products and features, including driverinterfaces, dispatch communications, passenger counters, announcers, GPStracking, and reporting & data analytics. It also means we build real-timeinformation systems for riders, including apps and digital signage found at busstops. We have relationships with Apple Maps, Google Maps, Transit app, and ourwork goes out to millions of riders on those platforms. Our product is like airtraffic control, but for buses. There are a mix of hardware and softwareproducts in this role. We hope this excites you!
Our team in the US has approximately 70 people, and 3 team members in the sales team. It's the best of both worlds: small company feel with big company support. To learn more about the US-based intelligent transportation systems division of GMV, visit www.gmvtransit.com.
2 We're here to serve customers

Our customers are public transit operators. Their customersare the transit riding public, which includes people from all walks of life. Our job is to serve those who make transit work every day. While this isn't aneasy job and we don't do a lot of handholding, we spend a significant amount oftime on onboarding and context in the product team so that you are prepared todeliver value.
If you want to be challenged with growth opportunities in a small team environment with high autonomy and see your work live on thousands of transit buses nationwide, then we are the team for you.

3 We're looking for passion

We value a candidate who wants to take full responsibility for the growth of our business within their territory.  We want someone who is proactive and disciplined. The nature of sales in the transit industry is slow. It starts with meeting prospective clients at conferences and leading intro calls and software demos. We build a relationship with prospective clients so that we really understand their needs and can assemble the best possible solution when it is time to submit a formal proposal.

You must make things happen - that's what makes this a great place to work if you have the attitude to thrive in it. For all this, you'll be rewarded with a sense of ownership and agency that you are in control of your own work, and the opportunity to earn more based on your results.

4 What this role is about:

You'll focus on finding and executing on new business opportunities to grow our business, which includes:

  • Researching prospective customers to confirm they are a good fit.
  • Travel to meet prospects and clients at industry events and at their offices.
  • Conducting technology demonstrations and educating prospects about our system.
  • Managing opportunities through formal procurement, including RFP intake, Proposal Development, and Final Presentation.

We are looking for a candidate that is curious, has attention to detail, has excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills and is a team player.

Not required but preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in any relevant field is preferred; however, we will consider all candidates.
  • Prior experience in a public sector sales or customer-facing role is preferred, but not a requirement.  If you are a good communicator, you genuinely care about helping our clients, and if you think strategically, then we can teach you the rest.
  • Prior experience in our industry is not a requirement.  It is important to have a strong aptitude for and interest in technology, but we can teach you how our widgets work and how the public transit system operates.

This industry takes time to learn, but if you're in it for the long haul, there's real potential to make a difference and earn a good living along the way. Our sales compensation is closely tied to company performance, so we want our team to succeed, but it takes dedication, patience, and persistence.

5 Our commitment, and yours:
We set our team up for success and dedicate a lot of time toonboarding and training. We value internal mobility and advancement and many ofus measure our tenure in decades. We're looking for someone with a similardedication, who expects to be here for at least a few years. We're not the kindof tech company that people hop to and from, and we're looking for someone togrow with us over time.
We'd love the chance to show you why this could be theright place for you. 6 What we offer:
  • We can offer great benefits, and a career-making move for you.
  • 110K - 120K base salary.
Commission (% of value of your won deals) with unlimited upside and quarterly bonus based on personal goals (% of base salary).
We offer a first-year commission bridge to help cover your ramp up period.
       Generous Health and Dental benefits.
Generous paid parental leave after one year.
       401k plan with company match.
Most of our work happens on Slack, but a few times per year we get together in person to collaborate within and across our teams. Our company is a small one with great culture, and you're going to have fun being a part of it.
Our team is passionate; our product makes a difference. Let us sell you on that. We'll show you this during the interview process, and we promise you won't be disappointed.
  • 7 To apply, you MUST send more than a resume - weneed to understand who you are.
We don't need a formalsir or madam cover letter, but we do need to see you taking the applicationseriously, which means writing a note to us telling us why this job appeals toyou and specifically why you'd be a great fit. Most importantly, show us somethingabout you that we can't get from your resume. We don't need an AI-summary ofyour resume and if the letter feels like it was written by AI, we will ignoreit.
