Job description

Job Summary
Chloeta is hiring an Architect provides professional architectural services in support of the federal facilities and infrastructure projects. This role supports a broad range of architectural and engineering (A/E) services, including planning, architectural design, construction administration, inspection, value engineering, energy conservation design practices, project management support, and coordination with environmental studies for new construction, renovations, and modernization of Federal facilities. The Architect works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver functional, durable, sustainable, and code-compliant facilities that meet federal and agency-specific requirements.

Job Classification: 1099 Independent Subcontractor
Duty Station: Region 8: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia
Travel: Up to 10%, Contingent upon business needs
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Plans and designs for construction and repair of buildings such as visitor centers, administration buildings, bunkhouses, shop buildings, residences, storage buildings, and fire cache buildings

  • Designs/documentations services including site plans, building elevations and sections, building systems, materials, dimensions, areas, and volumes

  • Conducts facility assessments and architectural evaluations of existing buildings to support renovations, upgrades, and deferred maintenance project

  • Coordinates closely with civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, geotechnical, and environmental disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery

  • Supports environmental studies and permitting coordination, including consideration of site constraints, historic properties, and environmental impacts compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulations, including IBC, ADA/ABA standards, NFPA, GSA Facilities Standards (as applicable), and USDA Forest Service design guideline

Required Skills/Abilities
  • Demonstrated experience in architectural design for commercial, institutional, or public-sector facilities

  • Knowledge of federal design standards, accessibility requirements, and building codes

  • Proficiency with architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, BIM tools)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience supporting federal agencies

  • Familiarity with construction administration and field inspection on federal projects.

Education and Experience
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related

  • Required: At least Two (2) years of professional architecture experience

  • Required: Registered Architect (RA) license in any of the following states: Region 8- Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk for report preparation and computer work.

  • Routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and GPS/GIS equipment

  • Travel to Federal facilities and project sites may be required
