Position Summary

The Engineering Technician assists civil engineers with planning, designing, and implementing construction and infrastructure projects. This role includes preparing technical drawings, reviewing engineering plans, conducting site inspections, supporting engineering analysis, and ensuring compliance with applicable engineering, safety, and construction standards.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist civil engineers in planning, designing, and developing construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical drawings, layouts, engineering plans, and specifications using AutoCAD 3D or similar drafting software.
  • Review construction drawings and engineering documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable engineering standards.
  • Conduct field inspections, site surveys, and construction monitoring activities.
  • Perform material testing, quality assurance inspections, and quality control evaluations.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze engineering and construction data to support project development.
  • Prepare technical reports, project documentation, and engineering records.
  • Coordinate with contractors, project managers, inspectors, and engineering personnel throughout project execution.
  • Assist in monitoring project schedules, construction progress, and engineering deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, construction specifications, engineering standards, and applicable building codes.
  • Support engineering teams with technical problem-solving and project coordination.
  • Participate in continuous process improvement initiatives that enhance project quality and operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Associate's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a closely related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in:
    • Civil Engineering
    • Engineering Technician
    • Construction Engineering
    • Infrastructure Projects

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
