Details:
Job: SAP Funds Management (FM) Consultant
Location: Columbia, SC (Remote with Occasional travel and expenses will be provided)
Type: Long Term Contract
Job Description:
  • Demonstrated hands on experience with SAP Funds Management (FM) supporting governmental fund accounting in compliance with Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) requirements
  • Proven experience supporting ECC to SAP S/4HANA brownfield migrations while preserving budgetary accounting, fund integrity, and audit continuity
  • Expertise in FM configuration and validation, including FM Area, Funds, Budget Structures, Commitment/Earmarked Funds, and Availability Control (AVC) to ensure continued appropriation and legal budget compliance.
  • Experience validating and reconciling budgetary (Modified Accrual) data-including budgets, commitments, and actuals-between ECC and S/4HANA for audit sign off.
  • Hands on experience supporting Funds Management reporting required for:
  • Statutory and external financial reporting (fund level statements, legally restricted funds, compliance reporting)
  • Government management and oversight reporting, including budget to actual and fund utilization analysis.
  • Strong understanding of the integration between FM (budgetary / Modified Accrual) and FI/FI AA (financial / Full Accrual) to support dual reporting obligations under GASB
  • Knowledge of FM integration with FI, CO, MM, PS, and FI AA to maintain end to end audit trails from budgetary control through financial statements.
  • Experience supporting SIT, UAT, and cutover activities, with specific focus on fund balance integrity, commitment carryforward, and post go live stabilization
  • Ability to produce audit ready documentation, including reconciliation schedules, control validations, and explanations suitable for internal and external government audits.
  • Nice to have: Experience with SAP Grants Management (GM), including grant funded budgeting, compliance, and reporting aligned to federal, state, or local grant requirements.
  • Strong communication skills to engage with Finance, Budget Offices, Program Owners, and Auditors in a regulated government environment.
