• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients’ mental health and substance use challenges, accurately identifying co-occurring disorders that require integrated treatment approaches.

• Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, utilizing numerous evidence-based interventions tailored to address both their mental health and substance use needs.

• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, employing techniques designed to enhance coping skills, promote emotional regulation, and establish effective relapse prevention strategies.

• Engage in care coordination with a multidisciplinary team, ensuring integrated treatment, sharing insights from monitoring clients' progress, and adjusting treatment plans as necessary.

• Implement regular substance use monitoring and employ motivational interviewing techniques to foster client accountability and encourage commitment to their recovery journey.

• Educate clients and their families about the crucial relationship between mental health and substance use disorders, emphasizing the importance of treatment adherence during regular sessions.

• Maintain accurate documentation of treatment progress and therapeutic interventions, abiding by ethical and legal standards to ensure transparency and accountability.

• Participate actively in case conferences, staff meetings, and ongoing training opportunities focused on the latest methodologies in the treatment of co-occurring disorders.

Your role will primarily involve working with a diverse range of clients, including those grappling with anxiety, depression, and substance use challenges. By addressing the intersectionality of these mental health and substance use concerns, you will play an essential role in breaking the cycles of co-occurring disorders. Your compassionate approach and clinical expertise will empower individuals to make meaningful changes in their lives and achieve sustainable recovery.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in California.

• Strong proficiency in evidence-based therapies specifically for co-occurring disorders, including Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).

• A robust understanding of the interplay between mental health conditions and substance use disorders is essential.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, which foster collaboration within a multidisciplinary team and facilitate a supportive environment for clients.

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in mental health counseling, particularly within integrated care settings.
• Experience working with clients with dual diagnoses, including both mental health and substance use disorders.
