Senior Interface Engineer / Integration Engineer – Dept. of Veterans Affairs Financial Management Business Transformation (FMBT)

Position Overview

Fathom Management, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Interface Engineer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Financial Management Business Transformation (FMBT) Program and the Integrated Financial and Acquisition Management System (iFAMS).

This role will focus on the design, development, testing, implementation, and support of complex system integrations between iFAMS (Momentum Financials) and numerous enterprise VA business systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience developing enterprise interfaces, APIs, web services, middleware solutions, and financial system integrations within large-scale federal environments.

Candidates with prior experience supporting VA systems and integrations are highly desired.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain interfaces between iFAMS and VA enterprise applications.
  • Support real-time and batch integrations utilizing enterprise integration technologies and web services.
  • Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable integration solutions.
  • Collaborate with functional, technical, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to ensure successful system interoperability.
  • Support interface architecture, data mapping, transformation, validation, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Participate in system integration testing, user acceptance testing, and deployment activities.
  • Develop interface specifications, technical documentation, and support procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration and data exchange issues.
  • Support Agile development and implementation activities.
  • Participate in stakeholder meetings and provide recommendations regarding interface design, performance, and optimization.
