Job Title: Accounting Manager

Job Type: Full-time with flexible options

Location: Mostly remote · Monthly/quarterly in Meridian, Idaho office

Salary: $65,000-$90,000+ package based on qualifications, adjusted annually for performance and incentives

ABOUT KT ADVISORY SERVICES

We are not a traditional CPA firm. Our Vision is to shape a better future for our clients and staff — and we mean it. We work exclusively with business owners and high net worth individuals to plan proactively throughout the year, helping them reach short and long-term goals. Our services span Client Accounting Advisory Services (CAAS) and Tax Advisory Services (TAS). We value fit over volume, and relationships over transactions.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for an Accounting Manager to lead the CAAS side of our business — someone who is equally comfortable diving into month-end close and sitting across the table from a business owner to discuss financial analysis. This is not a heads-down bookkeeping role. It is a senior advisory position where financial accuracy and business insight go hand in hand.

You will oversee one bookkeeper, own the month-end close process for a focused portfolio of business owner clients, and deliver the kind of CFO-level financial analysis and forecasting that helps clients make better decisions throughout the year. You will also work closely with our Tax Advisory Services team to ensure financial and tax strategies are aligned — so clients get a fully integrated picture, not siloed advice.

This role is right for you if you are self-directed, think beyond the numbers, and genuinely enjoy helping business owners understand what their financials are telling them. If you need constant direction or are most comfortable staying in the weeds, this is not the right fit.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

•       Own the month-end close process for a portfolio of business owner clients, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and clean financials every month.

•       Oversee and mentor one bookkeeper, reviewing their work and helping them grow.

•       Deliver CFO-level financial analysis, reporting, and commentary — translating numbers into actionable insights for business owners.

•       Build and maintain cash flow forecasts, budgets, and financial models tailored to each client's goals and business cycle.

•       Identify financial trends, risks, and opportunities proactively — and bring them to clients before they become problems.

•       Collaborate closely with the Tax Advisory Services team to align financial reporting and planning with tax strategy.

•       Advise clients on entity structure, financial systems, and process improvements to support growth and efficiency.

•       Communicate regularly with clients via calls, reports, and email to keep them informed and confident in their financial position.

•       Use AI tools and automation to streamline accounting workflows, while maintaining rigorous review standards for accuracy.

•       Assist with onboarding new clients — assessing their current financials, cleaning up historical records, and establishing sound processes.

•       Maintain a positive working relationship with clients and all KT Advisory Services staff and service providers.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

•       Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred.

•       5+ years of experience in accounting, with meaningful exposure to financial analysis, forecasting, and advisory work.

•       Experience in an outsourced accounting, public accounting, or controller/CFO-level role strongly preferred.

•       Demonstrated ability to manage a month-end close process from start to finish, independently and on time.

•       Strong financial modeling and forecasting skills — you can build a cash flow projection or budget from scratch and explain it clearly.

•       Comfortable working directly with business owners and communicating financial insights in plain language.

•       Experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff; able to review work and provide constructive feedback.

•       Proven ability to work independently — you manage your own workflow, identify issues, and solve problems without waiting to be directed.

•       Experience with AI tools and automation in an accounting context; comfortable improving processes through technology.

•       Proficiency in QuickBooks Online or similar accounting software, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Adobe Pro.

•       High attention to detail, strong analytical thinking, and a commitment to always doing the right thing.

WHY JOIN US

•       Work with a focused, high-quality client base — not a revolving door of transactional engagements.

•       A seat at the table: your financial insights directly shape the advice clients receive on both the accounting and tax side.

•       Remote-first flexibility with a collaborative, values-driven team.

•       Opportunity to grow with the firm as the CAAS practice expands.

•       A firm that actually invests in its people and lives its values.
