Remote Biw Fixture Design Engineer information

What are the main challenges faced by a Remote BiW Fixture Design Engineer, and how can they be addressed?

As a Remote BiW (Body-in-White) Fixture Design Engineer, one of the primary challenges is ensuring seamless communication and collaboration with on-site manufacturing and engineering teams. Since much of the work involves designing complex fixtures for automotive assemblies, it’s crucial to have clear documentation, regular virtual meetings, and the use of collaborative CAD tools to avoid misalignments. Additionally, managing different time zones and adapting to various client requirements can be demanding, but staying organized and proactive in communication helps address these issues effectively. Building strong relationships with team members and being open to feedback are also key to overcoming the remote work challenges in this role.

What is a Remote BiW Fixture Design Engineer?

A Remote BiW (Body-in-White) Fixture Design Engineer is a professional who designs and develops fixtures and tooling for assembling the structural framework of vehicles, such as car bodies, from a remote location. These engineers use CAD software and engineering principles to create fixtures that ensure precise assembly, alignment, and welding of automotive body parts. Working remotely, they collaborate with manufacturing teams, suppliers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality fixture designs that meet industry standards and project requirements.

What is the difference between Remote Biw Fixture Design Engineer vs Remote Automotive Fixture Designer?

AspectRemote Biw Fixture Design EngineerRemote Automotive Fixture Designer
CredentialsBachelor's in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, CAD certificationsBachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, CAD certifications
Work EnvironmentDesigning fixtures for vehicle body-in-white (BIW) assembly lines, often in automotive manufacturingDesigning fixtures for automotive assembly, focusing on body-in-white components
Industry UsagePrimarily in automotive manufacturing plants, OEMs, and suppliersAutomotive industry, OEMs, and Tier 1 suppliers

The Remote Biw Fixture Design Engineer specializes in designing fixtures specifically for the vehicle body-in-white assembly process, focusing on structural support and alignment. In contrast, the Remote Automotive Fixture Designer may work on a broader range of fixtures across various automotive components. Both roles require similar technical skills and certifications but differ in their specific focus within automotive fixture design.

Location: 100% Remote (Anywhere in the USA)
We are looking for a Sr High-Speed SerDes Design Engineer who enjoys solving some of the toughest challenges in analog/mixed-signal IC design. If you have hands-on experience designing high-speed SerDes, PLLs, TX/RX data paths, and have worked through the realities of advanced process nodes (5nm and below), we would love to connect.
You will be part of a highly skilled engineering team developing next-generation high-performance silicon where speed, power, jitter, and reliability matter.
Required Qualifications
BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
8+ years of hands-on analog/mixed-signal IC design experience.
Strong expertise in the design of High-Speed SerDes, including PLLs, TX/RX circuits, CDRs, clock generation, and high-speed analog interfaces.
Proven transistor-level circuit design experience from architecture through silicon validation.
Successful tapeout experience in advanced CMOS process technologies (FinFET and 5nm beyond preferred).
Experience working with one or more leading semiconductor foundries.
Proficiency with industry-standard analog and mixed-signal IC design, simulation, verification, and physical verification EDA tools.
Strong understanding of signal integrity, jitter analysis, power optimization, and high-speed circuit design techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with silicon bring-up, characterization, and post-silicon debug.
Familiarity with high-speed interface standards such as PCIe, Ethernet, CXL, USB, MIPI, DDR, HBM, UCIe, or similar protocols.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including Layout, Digital Design, Physical Design, Verification, Packaging, Test, and Systems Engineering.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills.
Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading technical initiatives.
Why Join Us
Work on challenging, high-impact silicon designs with a team of engineers who are passionate about pushing the limits of performance and innovation.
If you have designed SerDes at the transistor level and want to work on genuinely hard problems, we'd love to hear from you.
The anticipated annual base salary for this position is between $135,000 to $165,000, which also includes a comprehensive benefits package.
