Maximus is currently seeking a Senior Biostatistician
The Senior Biostatistician supports the short- and long-term well-being of SOF warriors and their families by applying advanced analytical expertise to human performance programs. This role uses mathematical and statistical models to evaluate and predict program and study outcomes; gathers, analyzes, and cleanses data to produce reliable findings for USSOCOM leadership; and supports health and behavioral research efforts to ensure human performance initiatives are effective and aligned with mission requirements.
U.S. citizenship is required. Candidates must possess an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance as required for contract performance. This position is pending upon contract award.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and deploy advanced methods to analyze operational data and derive meaningful, actionable insights for stakeholders and business development partners.
- Function as point of contact for data and analytical usage across multiple projects, and guide operational partners on product performance and solution improvement/maturity options.
- Analyze extracted data, identify trends and provide insights and analyses around operations and project data.
- Develop and implement new metrics, functions, and scripts as KPIs as needed.
- Code to defined requirements to segment populations from large enterprise datasets, verify data accuracy, and output files per specifications.
- Create and maintain all documentation including obtaining and collecting artifacts as needed.
- Ad hoc tool development to support operational and under served analytical areas.
- Learning emerging technologies and systems of need for company initiatives.
- Activities to support team communication and strategy implementation (meetings, etc.).
- Project management activities.
Job-Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Provide management, coordination, liaison support, research, analysis, planning, programming, budgeting advice and assistance, and education and training policy guidance for the USSOCOM Enterprise POTFF program.
-Provide expert guidance and advice to Component headquarters staff.
-Serve as a key analyst and recognized professional authority responsible for designing, developing, and adapting mathematical and statistical models and techniques.
-Provide advice and insight regarding the probable effects of alternative courses of action.
-Support the strategic planning process for POTFF-unique programs designed to enhance individual and unit performance.
-Evaluate the enterprise-wide POTFF program and develop corresponding measures of effectiveness.
-Apply expert analytical and evaluative skills to determine actions necessary to support established Human Performance initiatives.
-Support and foster research conducted at POTFF under Government staff supervision, including methodological development, data analytics, interpretation of findings, and recommendations.
-Perform human performance and behavioral science research analysis involving complex problem sets, creative approaches, innovative research methods, and advanced statistics.
-Use scientific inquiry to independently develop mathematical models that evaluate and predict the ability to support assigned programs, studies, or problems.
-Provide technical guidance, advisory support, and assistance for entire projects and/or major phases of broad and varied operations.
-Attend meetings, conferences, briefings, and seminars to remain current in statistical analysis, multivariate statistics, database mining, integration, and interpretation.
-Assist the Government by providing input into the development of Initial Capability Documents, Capability Development Documents, Capability Production Documents, DOTMLPF Change Recommendations, and SOFCIDS documentation.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- 5-7 years of relevant professional experience required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.
Job-Specific Minimum Requirements:
-PhD in Human Performance, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Behavioral/Social Science, or a related discipline.
-Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in a related field.
-Knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative methods and analyses used to develop, adapt, modify, and apply models for scientific inquiry, problem resolution, alternative solution development, and assessment and improvement of Human Performance Optimization.
-Ability to gather, assemble, and analyze facts; draw conclusions; develop and use appropriate data collection and cleansing techniques; produce valid and reliable findings; conduct analyses; recommend solutions; and present results in briefings, papers, or reports suitable for senior management decision-making.
-Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; negotiate complex issues; identify solutions and alternatives when no single solution exists; and establish and maintain productive working relationships with project stakeholders.
-Knowledge of human performance and behavioral science research analysis techniques and related analytical methods.
-Ability to lead research teams; originate new ideas, projects, and methodologies; and execute projects and/or studies within established financial and/or time constraints.
