The Support Scientist I for Cytiva is responsible for providing superior scientific support to customers using Cytiva products in their scientific discovery journey.

This position reports to the Senior Manager, Scientific Support and is part of the Scientific Support team located in Marlborough, MA and will be a remote role.

What you will do:

  • Provide pre- and post-sale technical assistance, troubleshooting and product recommendations to both internal and external customers via phone, webchat, and email.
  • Participate in product training and activities to develop your knowledge. Maintain an up-to-date basic knowledge of all required company products, services, and their associated support literature.
  • Become familiar with standard work regarding maintaining accurate, complete, and up-to-date information on allcustomer inquiries while prioritizing and processing these in an orderly and consistent manner. Follow all appropriate regulations and processes for customer queries classified as complaints.
  • Give presentations/trainings remotely or face-to-face to customers or colleagues, as necessary. Participate in activities such as developing and delivering technical training, reviewing product literature, field and lab work, trade shows and system installations.
  • Identify potential opportunities to convert technical inquiries into new or developed sales possibilities (e.g. lead generation, up-and cross-selling).

Who you are:

  • Advanced degree (Bachelors required, Masters/PhD preferred) in Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering or related field or the equivalent work experience providing necessary knowledge and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.
  • Requires conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures in chromatography sciences.
  • Musthave a minimum of 3 years laboratory experience with Cytiva (GE Healthcare) Life Sciences equipment for Chromatography (AKTA). Working knowledge of the AKTA instrument, Unicorn software, chromatography resins and purification methods. (PLEASE indicate experience with AKTA on your resume or application).
  • Travel requirements: 5% travel to Marlborough, MA; Monthly local travel along with regional colleagues

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Industry experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology company. Familiarity with regulatory compliance in drug development.
  • Teaching or training experience including design and delivery of basic and advanced concepts to technical or non-technical individuals.
  • One or more years of technical support, field applications or sales experience emphasizing customer contact.

The salary range for this role is $70,000 to $85,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
