The Position: We are seeking to fill a Career Coach position. We are looking for someone to recruit, assess, coach, and strategize with residents to prepare them for education and employment. The Location: Seattle, WA The ideal candidate will have: Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, business, or a related field May substitute an additional four years of relevant experience Two years of experience in vocational and/or educational counseling, social work, human services, or case management What will you do.
Demonstrate cultural competency and sensitivity to the needs of adults with multiple challenges Communicate the purpose and benefits of the adult employment program and support participants in their education and employment paths Conduct outreach and recruit new program participants to maintain an assigned number of families that make up the caseload Conduct initial intake and assessment of housing participants' needs Work with participants to prepare an individual development plan with established educational and employment goals, achievement objectives, and service needs Facilitate the development of strategies to meet established educational and employment goals Provide referrals for needs, such as health care, childcare, chemical dependency, mental health, legal issues, etc. Follow up with referred providers. Evaluate success of partner and referral agency programs.
Provide one-on-one career and job coaching, job referral, and job placement services Maintain case records to track, measure, and report participant outcomes and successes Follow funders' and/or SHA specific requirements and policies as dictated in external grants or internal resources dedicated to specific types of economic opportunities programs For additional information on the job, please see the full job description.
