Job description

As a Senior Azure Cloud Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and maintaining a highly scalable and secure Azure cloud infrastructure. The role involves applying best practices in cloud governance, security, monitoring, and continuous deployment (CI/CD) to ensure smooth and efficient cloud operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance cloud efficiency, reliability, and security while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
What you will be responsible for
Azure Cloud Governance:
Implement and enforce governance policies, such as access control, tagging, cost management, and resource monitoring, to ensure adherence to company-wide standards.
• Define and manage policies using Azure Policy, Azure Blueprints, and Azure Security Center
• Cloud Security:
• Ensure the security of the Azure infrastructure by applying best practices in identity and access management (IAM), role-based access control (RBAC), encryption, network security groups (NSG), and vulnerability management.
• Proactively identify security vulnerabilities and mitigate risks through the deployment of advanced security measures such as Azure Defender, Azure Key Vault, and advanced network security architectures (e.g., VPN, Firewalls, DDoS protection).
Monitoring and Performance Optimization:
• Set up robust monitoring and alerting systems using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights to ensure the health and performance of the cloud environment.
• Continuously evaluate system performance, perform capacity planning, and optimize cloud resource allocation for cost-efficiency and scalability.
Implement automation tools for incident detection, troubleshooting, and performance enhancement.
Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery (DR) strategies and backups for critical Azure resources, ensuring minimal downtime in the event of failures or incidents.
• Create automated failover processes and regularly test DR strategies to ensure system resilience.
Continuous Deployment / Continuous Integration (CI/CD):
• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps for the automated deployment of applications and services in a scalable and secure manner.
• Ensure zero-downtime deployments and monitor performance during release cycles.
Collaboration and Leadership:
• Provide technical leadership to management team
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align cloud operations with business objectives and improve cloud adoption.
• Participate in architectural reviews, governance forums, and incident post-mortems to drive continuous improvement
Must-Have
• 5+ years managing and operating Azure cloud infrastructure at scale.
• Proven expertise with Azure PaaS offerings: Functions, App Services, Service Bus, VNET, NSG, WAF, Front Door, API Management, App Insights, SQL, Key Vault, Data Factory, Logic Apps, Scale Sets, Monitor/Alerts, IAM, RBAC.
• Strong knowledge of Azure governance (Policy, Blueprints, Security Center).
• Hands-on security experience with Azure-native tools and compliance standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA).
• Proficiency with monitoring (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights).
• Skilled in cost management and optimization.
• Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, agile environment.
