Job description

Software Developer - School Support Applications is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting modern web-based applications that support educational and business operations. This role will lead application modernization initiatives, develop scalable APIs and database solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. The position plays a key role in ensuring application reliability, performance, security, and compliance while supporting ongoing enhancements and production operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and support modern web-based school support applications.
  • Lead system architecture, database design, API development, and application modernization efforts.
  • Perform unit, integration, and performance testing.
  • Gather business requirements and recommend technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with project managers, business users, and technical teams to deliver projects on schedule.
  • Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers.
  • Maintain technical documentation, knowledge transfer materials, and user guides.
  • Ensure compliance with security, confidentiality, accessibility, and development standards.
  • Provide ongoing production support and troubleshoot application issues across environments.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience developing complex .NET web applications, APIs, workflows, and SQL-based solutions.
  • 5+ years of ASP.NET MVC, C#, .NET Core, REST/SOAP APIs, Angular, and SQL Server.
  • 3+ years of JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, HTML5, CSS3, Entity Framework, and responsive web development.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience supporting school or education-related applications.

Preferred (Optional):

  • Oracle/PLSQL, PostgreSQL, TypeScript, Node.js.
  • SSRS/SSIS reporting and integration tools.
  • Microservices architecture.
  • Azure or AWS cloud deployments.

Additional Details

The base range for this contract position is $75 - $85 / per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered.
