Job Summary:
Renaissance Benefits is hiring an experienced Data Platform Engineer to join our growing team!
The Data Platform Engineer helps scale Renaissance's data platform and integrate it across the organization. This role designs and builds the integration layer connecting the Microsoft Fabric-based data platform with the broader Azure ecosystem and API infrastructure. The position partners closely with the Data Platform Lead, AI Manager, and engineering teams to translate strategic direction into durable, scalable architecture and enable teams to consume platform capabilities reliably and independently.
What will this role entail?
  • Design and implement the integration layer between the Microsoft Fabric platform and Azure services, including Azure API Management, Azure Data Factory, Event Hubs, and Azure Databricks.
  • Define data contracts, API standards, and integration patterns that enable partner development teams to self-serve against the platform.
  • Establish scalable platform architecture that can be extended as organizational needs evolve.
  • Partner with the AI Manager to ensure the data platform supports current and future AI and machine learning initiatives.
  • Build and maintain robust data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, and related data platform tooling.
  • Implement data quality, governance, and lineage practices across the platform.
  • Drive platform reliability and performance by proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and process improvements that advance the data platform roadmap.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or a related technical role.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure data services and integration tools.
  • Ability to design scalable data platforms, pipelines, integrations, and data models.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams.
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment.

Technical Qualifications
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, pipelines, and Lakehouse capabilities.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML data patterns and model pipeline support.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Bicep preferred.
  • Knowledge of API design, integration patterns, and platform enablement.
  • Interest in learning new tools and applying automation or AI-enabled solutions responsibly.

Base Salary Range: $95,000-105,000
