Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Azure Database Architect to support a large-scale cloud modernization initiative focused on building a centralized Azure Data Lakehouse environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing, implementing, and optimizing Azure database solutions, data lakes, and cloud-based data architectures while ensuring security, scalability, and high performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain Azure database and Data Lakehouse solutions.

  • Architect scalable and secure data storage solutions in Azure.

  • Develop logical and physical data models to support enterprise applications.

  • Build and optimize Azure Data Lakes and relational/non-relational databases.

  • Design and implement ETL/data transformation solutions.

  • Configure and optimize Azure SQL databases, Managed Instances, and Elastic Pools.

  • Monitor database performance and optimize data access patterns.

  • Implement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies.

  • Ensure data security through RBAC, encryption, and network security best practices.

  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for database deployments.

  • Utilize Azure Data Factory, Azure Monitor, Azure CLI/PowerShell, SQL Analytics, and Query Performance Insight for administration and monitoring.

  • Collaborate with architects, developers, and business stakeholders to deliver enterprise data solutions.

  • 10+ years of experience in Database Architecture or Data Management.

  • Strong expertise in Azure SQL Database, Managed Instances, and Azure Data Lake.

  • Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks.

  • Strong experience with Oracle Database.

  • Experience designing and implementing cloud-based data platforms.

  • Experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure data loading utilities.

  • Strong knowledge of ETL, data transformation, and data integration.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines for database deployments.

  • Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and Azure infrastructure.

  • Experience with Azure Monitor, Azure Resource Manager (ARM), Azure CLI, PowerShell, SQL Analytics, and Query Performance Insight.

  • Experience implementing backup, recovery, and geo-replication strategies.

  • Strong understanding of Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), encryption, and network security.

  • Strong knowledge of data modeling, schema design, indexing strategies, and performance tuning.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications
