Job description

Job Overview:

Pay Range: $45.00hr - $50.00hr

Requirement/Must Have:

  • 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise database design.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server including schema design, T-SQL, performance tuning, and high availability.
  • Demonstrated experience designing data warehouses and data marts using star/snowflake schemas and Kimball methodology.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft BI stack including SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, and Power BI.
  • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT design patterns and data pipeline architecture.
  • Experience with data governance, data cataloging, and metadata management.
  • Proficiency in data modeling tools such as Erwin, ER/Studio, or SQL Server Data Tools.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present architecture decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in healthcare data environments including claims processing, 835/834 EDI, eligibility, and enrollment.
  • Familiarity with Azure data services including Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Data Lake.
  • Experience with HIPAA compliance and handling of PHI/PII data.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end design of enterprise data models, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models across OLTP and OLAP environments.
  • Define and enforce data standards, integration patterns, and interoperability strategies across multiple source systems, databases, and platforms.
  • Architect and oversee the design of data warehouses, data marts, and reporting layers that power BI dashboards, operational reports, and executive analytics.
  • Establish and champion data governance policies, data dictionaries, lineage documentation, and master data management strategies.
  • Guide and review ETL/ELT pipeline design and collaborate with developers on SSIS packages, stored procedures, and data transformation logic.
  • Conduct query and schema performance reviews and advise on indexing strategies, partitioning, and optimization for high-volume data environments.
  • Partner with application developers, business analysts, DBAs, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into sound data architecture decisions.
  • Evaluate emerging data technologies and contribute to the organization’s data platform roadmap, including cloud migration strategies.
  • Maintain authoritative architecture documentation, ERDs, data flow diagrams, and standards guides.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to database developers and analysts.
