The Remote Azure 104 typically refers to individuals preparing for or holding the Azure Administrator certification, focusing on exam requirements. The Remote Azure Administrator role involves managing and maintaining Azure environments. While both share similar skills and certifications, the former is more exam-focused, and the latter is a job position requiring hands-on management.

What is a Remote Azure 104 job?

A Remote Azure 104 job typically refers to a position that involves working with Microsoft Azure cloud services from a remote location, focusing on tasks covered by the Azure Administrator Associate certification (Exam AZ-104). Professionals in this role are responsible for implementing, managing, and monitoring identity, governance, storage, compute, and virtual networks in a cloud environment. This job requires knowledge of Azure services, security, and the ability to troubleshoot and optimize Azure solutions, all while working remotely using online collaboration tools.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Azure Administrator (AZ-104), and why are they important?

To excel as a Remote Azure Administrator (AZ-104), you need a solid understanding of Microsoft Azure services, networking, security, and experience with cloud infrastructure, often validated by passing the Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) exam. Familiarity with Azure Portal, PowerShell, Azure CLI, and monitoring tools is crucial for effectively managing resources and automation. Strong problem-solving, communication, and time management skills help you efficiently support distributed teams and troubleshoot issues remotely. These skills ensure secure, reliable cloud operations and enable you to optimize Azure environments for organizational needs.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in a Remote Azure Administrator (AZ-104) role, and how can they be addressed?

Remote Azure Administrators often face challenges such as managing cloud resources across distributed environments, ensuring secure configurations, and troubleshooting issues without physical access to on-premises systems. Effective communication with team members and staying up-to-date with Azure's evolving features are crucial for success. Leveraging automation tools, regularly reviewing security protocols, and participating in virtual team meetings can help address these challenges and contribute to a productive workflow.

Job description

  • Start Date: Interview Types
  • Skills Azure Landing Zones .. Visa Types Green Card, US Citiz..

  • Job Title: Azure Landing Zone Lead/Architect
    Location: Remote (Columbus, Ohio)
    Duration: 6 - 12 Months Contract
    Job Description:
    Description:
    • Hands-on experience deploying Azure Landing Zones using the Azure Landing Zone Accelerator (ALZ) with Terraform - designing, provisioning, and iterating on custom management group hierarchies, subscription vending, and policy-as-code deployments (this is the core, non-negotiable skill).
    • Proven experience designing hub-and-spoke network topologies - centralized connectivity subscription, hub-based egress (no direct internet from spokes), and spoke-to-hub peering for workload isolation.
    • Deep working knowledge of Microsoft's Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF), with the ability to design multi-tier management group structures beyond the CAF default (e.g., segmenting workloads by environment, data sensitivity classification, vendor/SaaS ownership, and decommissioning lifecycle) and translate them into deployable Terraform modules.
    • Strong Azure operational and administration experience - subscription/resource group management, RBAC, quota and policy governance, cost control, and day-2 operations across a multi-subscription environment.
    • Hands-on experience with Azure Entra ID (Azure AD) and IAM - conditional access, role assignments, PIM, service principals/managed identities, and federated identity for workload access.
    • Proficiency with Terraform state management, module design, and CI/CD pipeline integration (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions) for repeatable, versioned landing zone deployments.
    • Experience with application-tier resilience patterns within a landing zone - e.g., Blue/Green (LIVE/staging) subscription or resource group structures with load-balanced, zero-downtime traffic switching.
    • Ability to work directly with client architecture teams to translate whiteboard-level segmentation and governance decisions into a deployable Terraform-based landing zone, supporting regulated/enterprise environments.
