Description:Hybrid 3 days onsite / 2 days remote in Rockville, MD

Our client seeks a senior engineer to deliver analytics, dashboards, and insights using enterprise data. The role emphasizes SQL and AWS services to enable reliable and scalable reporting, KPI definition, and testing. The focus is analytics and reporting rather than ETL or pipeline development. The engineer will question assumptions, improve reporting efficiency, and drive better data-driven decisions.

Rate: $70.00 to $88.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Build and optimize SQL-based analytics and reporting solutions.
  • Analyze data using AWS services including Athena, RDS, and Hive.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and KPI reports.
  • Define and refine business metrics and KPIs with stakeholders.
  • Improve analytics efficiency through reusable queries and views.
  • Build lightweight automation and tools to reduce manual reporting effort.
  • Ensure data accuracy and reliability through validation and testing.
  • Perform regression testing of dashboards and reports.
  • Conduct performance testing of queries.
  • Execute unit and end-to-end testing.
Experience Requirements:
  • Strong SQL with advanced queries, optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with AWS analytics services such as Athena, RDS, and Hive.
  • Background in data analysis and dashboarding.
  • Understanding of KPIs, metrics, and reporting logic.
  • Experience in data validation and testing.
