About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer to help build ProPay2.0, our next-generation payment platform and financial infrastructure. In this role, you will design, develop, and support highly scalable, secure payment solutions that process ACH, virtual card, check, and other digital payment transactions while contributing to the architecture and evolution of our payment platform.

Preferred work location is hybrid in our Concord office. Remote candidates residing in the Pacific or Mountain time zones will also be considered based on experience and qualifications.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications for enterprise payment processing
  • Build scalable front-end applications using React and modern UI frameworks
  • Develop secure, high-performance backend services and RESTful APIs
  • Use AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Copilot, etc.) to accelerate coding, refactoring, and debugging
  • Design and optimize relational database schemas and SQL queries
  • Integrate with external payment providers, banking partners, and third-party APIs
  • Ensure applications meet security, compliance, and performance requirements
  • Participate in architecture discussions and technical design reviews
  • Participate in code reviews and uphold engineering best practices across the team
  • Identify opportunities to improve system design, performance, and developer productivity
  • Troubleshoot production issues and identify root causes
  • Write automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
  • Collaborate closely with Product, QA, DevOps, and Operations teams throughout the software development lifecycle

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of full-stack development experience
  • Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot
  • Strong Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server
  • Experience with React and modern front-end frameworks
  • Experience with Git and modern CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience building cloud-based applications (AWS preferred)
  • Experience working on payment processing, fintech, banking, healthcare payments, or financial services platforms
  • Experience with ACH, EFT, virtual cards, checks, or digital payment processing
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with payment standards and financial transaction workflows
  • Experience integrating with third-party APIs and secure payment gateways
  • Knowledge of OAuth2, JWT, SSO, and modern authentication frameworks
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, etc.)
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments
  • Familiarity with messaging platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
  • Experience with performance tuning, observability, and production monitoring
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices and regulatory requirements

Compensation for this position may vary based on individual skills, experience, and location. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for performance-based bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and other benefits. Actual compensation will be determined considering the candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, and internal equity.
