Position Summary

Turn intent into production software - and build the platform that does it.

Bolt is McKesson's AI-first platform for rapid enterprise application development. Instead of hand-writing every line, or vibe coding fragile systems, teams describe their intent - and Bolt's agentic harness turns it into enterprise-grade, production-ready software, with design, security, and data standards baked in from the first commit.

We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer to help build the platform itself: the harness, tooling, and guardrails that let AI agents (like Claude Code) ship real enterprise software - safely and fast.

This is a build role at the frontier of AI-assisted software development.

What you'll do

  • Design and build core components of the Bolt harness - skills, commands, platform tools, and the guardrails that keep AI-generated code safe and standards-compliant

  • Develop tooling that makes agentic development reliable and efficient - orchestration, context/token optimization, and reusable templates

  • Strengthen the enterprise guarantee layers: design systems, shift-left security, data integration, and automated verification & validation

  • Own the path from spec to shipped software across multiple environments, including CI/CD and secrets management

  • Set the technical bar through architecture, code review, and mentorship

What we're looking for

Minimum Requirement

Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.

Critical Skills

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.

  • 5+ years building and shipping production software

  • Strong system-design fundamentals and clean, testable, well-architected code

  • Full-stack breadth: [TypeScript / Python / Go], modern frontend, APIs, and backend services

  • Strong with cloud infrastructure and IaaS ([AWS / Azure / GCP]), containers, and CI/CD in an enterprise setting

  • A proven automation mindset - a track record of eliminating toil and building things that scale without manual effort

  • A customer-first mindset, with a habit of grounding technical decisions in real user needs

  • Genuinely passionate about the fast-changing AI landscape and eager to build on the frontier of agentic development

  • A track record of owning projects from ambiguity to launch

  • Clear communication and a strong bias toward action

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience with LLMs or agentic AI systems - prompt/context engineering, tool use, agent orchestration

  • Background in developer platforms, internal tooling, or SDKs

  • Application security / DevSecOps or enterprise data-platform experience

  • Healthcare or other regulated, large-scale enterprise environments

Why join us

  • Shape a platform that's redefining how enterprise software gets built in Health Tech

  • Real ownership and the autonomy to make it count

  • A senior team that ships fast and sweats the details

  • Competitive comp, remote work, and a non-toxic work environment

This is a build-the-thing-not-just-use-the-thing role. If you've been eager to work on the infrastructure behind the AI coding wave instead of just riding it, this is that.

Working Conditions

  • Remote work with occasional domestic travel (up to 10%).

  • Flexible hours to collaborate across time zones.

This position offers the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement based on recent updates to our in-office/workfromhome model. If located in DFW area, the selected candidate may be expected to work onsite at our Las Colinas office a minimum of two (2) days per week, with the remaining days worked remotely. Specific inoffice days may be designated according to team needs and business priorities.
