The following position is to join our RTX Enterprise Services team in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico:

The Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) organization at RTX is seeking a Cyber Defense Principal Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will deliver high-value network security and operational support services that enable enterprise growth, operational resilience, and the secure migration of critical information systems. You will be responsible for maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of enterprise systems while ensuring compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. This position operates across a broad cybersecurity domain, including Palo Alto firewall operations, secure data transport, network monitoring, privacy considerations, and advanced troubleshooting. The successful candidate will collaborate cross-functionally to support secure network operations and ensure systems remain compliant, resilient, and effectively integrated with business needs.

What You Will Do

  • Provide secure network operations and engineering support across enterprise environments.
  • Enforce network security controls aligned with RTX policies and regulatory standards.
  • Administer and optimize Palo Alto firewall platforms to support secure connectivity.
  • Monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot network and security incidents to ensure rapid resolution.
  • Support secure data transmission and privacy requirements across integrated systems.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to support secure and reliable network services.
  • Participate in rotational on-call duties.
  • This position will reference written work instructions for guidance with daily job activities. Work instructions are available in English only.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls
  • Experience providing guidance to organizational staff on secure network practices
  • Experience with communication protocols (HTTP/HTTPS, FTP, SFTP, SOCKS)
  • Experience working with networking fundamentals and security principles (TCP/IP, DNS, encryption)
  • Demonstrated ability to perform structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Industry-recognized networking certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent)
  • Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) certification (e.g., Palo Alto Networks certification)
  • Experience with Linux system administration
  • Information security certifications (e.g., CISSP, GIAC)
