Compensation:

$65,000 - $75,000 yearly


Responsibilities:
  • Verify and interpret coverage by reviewing policy language, endorsements, exclusions, and applicable statutes.

  • Conduct comprehensive automobile claim investigations, including review of accident reports, recorded statements, photos, estimates, and other supporting documentation.

  • Evaluate and determine liability and comparative negligence, applying state laws and company guidelines.

  • Assess and resolve auto physical damage claims, including coordination with repair facilities, appraisers, and vendors.

  • Manage total loss claims, including valuation review, settlement calculation, and title processing requirements.

  • Recognize and evaluate minor injury exposures, including medical payments and limited bodily injury claims within authority.

  • Negotiate settlements with insureds, claimants, and attorneys, applying sound judgment and clear communication.

  • Establish, monitor, and adjust claim reserves to accurately reflect exposure throughout the claim lifecycle.

  • Identify and pursue subrogation and salvage opportunities to support recovery efforts.

  • Maintain proactive and professional communication with policyholders, claimants, agents, and internal partners.

  • Document all claim activity, decisions, and rationale accurately within the claims management system.

  • Collaborate with Underwriting, Legal, SIU, and other departments to support effective claim resolution.

  • Participate in quality reviews and maintain productivity, closure, and customer service standards.

  • Stay informed of changes in insurance regulations, auto repair trends, and claim handling best practices.

  • Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.


Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of auto claims handling experience, including experience managing total loss claims.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management & Insurance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.

  • Working knowledge of automobile mechanics, repair processes, and valuation methods.

  • Experience evaluating liability and handling minor bodily injury or medical payment exposures preferred.

  • Professional designations such as AIC or CPCU preferred but not required.

  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.

  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.

  • Excellent organization and attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

  • Customer-focused mindset with sound financial judgment.
