Remote Audio Visual Project Manager information

What does a remote audio visual project manager do?

A Remote Audio Visual (AV) Project Manager oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of AV projects, such as installing sound systems, video conferencing equipment, or digital displays, often from a remote location. They communicate with clients and technical teams, manage budgets and timelines, and ensure all project requirements are met to the client's satisfaction. Their role involves problem-solving, scheduling, and quality control, making sure projects are completed on time and within scope, even while working offsite. Strong technical knowledge of AV systems and excellent organizational skills are essential for this position.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote audio visual project manager?

A Remote Audio Visual Project Manager needs expertise in AV systems integration, project management methodologies, and typically a degree in a related field like engineering or communications. Familiarity with project management software (like MS Project or Asana), AV design tools (such as AutoCAD), and certifications like CTS or PMP are highly valued. Strong soft skills in communication, leadership, and problem-solving help in coordinating remote teams and managing client expectations. These skills ensure seamless project execution, client satisfaction, and the ability to adapt to the challenges of remote work environments.

What are some common challenges faced by remote audio visual project managers when coordinating installations across multiple locations?

Remote Audio Visual Project Managers often face the challenge of ensuring seamless communication between clients, onsite technicians, and vendors, especially when managing projects in different time zones. Coordinating equipment deliveries, troubleshooting technical issues remotely, and maintaining project timelines without being physically present require strong organizational skills and familiarity with virtual collaboration tools. Regular virtual check-ins, clear documentation, and proactive risk management are essential for overcoming these challenges and delivering successful AV installations.

Bird Nason Contracting Group rewards innovation and creativity and promotes a healthy balance between professional and personal life.

We provide a wide variety of training including job specific safety and leadership training for apprentices and journeypersons. Ensure that project objectives related to cost, schedule, safety, and quality are met or exceeded. Foster a collaborative site environment that supports both performance and safety excellence.

Proposals & Contract Management:
Collaborate with senior management to prepare quotations, bids, and project proposals. Administer and negotiate contracts, manage tendering processes for subcontractors and suppliers, and ensure all documentation is approved internally before submission.

Project Setup & Coordination:

Quality & Safety Standards:
Enforce the company's safety program and ensure compliance with all applicable standards, codes, and environmental regulations. Identify areas for improvement and ensure teams are trained and equipped to deliver high-quality, safe work in challenging hydro site environments.

Documentation & Reporting:
Prepare and manage all project documentation including shop drawing approvals, cost forecasts, billings, change orders, and progress reports. Ensure timely and thorough project closeouts.

Leadership & Team Motivation:
Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to cross-functional project teams. Lead by example, maintain a positive and goal-oriented attitude, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Proven track record in project execution, contract management, and stakeholder coordination.

  • Excellent knowledge of safety, environmental, and quality standards in hydro construction.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, Viewpoint, Bluebeam, or similar tools.

  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
