Remote Audio Visual Programmer information

How do Remote Audio Visual Programmers typically collaborate with on-site teams and clients during project implementation?

Remote Audio Visual Programmers often work closely with on-site technicians, project managers, and clients through video calls, screen sharing, and remote access tools. Communication is key, as they need to clarify system requirements, guide hardware integration, and troubleshoot issues in real time. Regular check-ins and detailed documentation help ensure everyone stays aligned, especially when coordinating across different time zones. Building strong remote relationships and being proactive in communication are essential for smooth project delivery.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Audio Visual Programmer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Audio Visual Programmer, you need strong programming skills (such as Crestron, AMX, or Extron), a background in AV systems integration, and relevant certifications like CTS or manufacturer credentials. Proficiency with AV control software, remote troubleshooting tools, and network protocols is typically required. Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication, and self-motivation help professionals excel in remote and collaborative environments. These skills ensure seamless AV system performance, client satisfaction, and effective remote project delivery.

What is a Remote Audio Visual Programmer?

A Remote Audio Visual Programmer is a professional who designs, codes, and configures software for audio-visual (AV) systems, such as conference rooms, auditoriums, and smart home installations, while working from a remote location. They use programming languages and platforms specific to AV equipment to ensure seamless integration and automation of devices like projectors, sound systems, and lighting controls. Their role often involves troubleshooting, remote support, and collaborating with on-site technicians to deliver customized AV solutions.

At Horizon Hobby, we inspire dreams and help build memories! Our company is the leader in the global Radio Control industry, celebrating 40 years in 2025! We offer tremendous opportunities for growth and development and a full array of benefits including discounts on our products! We are currently hiring for an Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) Developer.

This is a full-time position working out of our Champaign, IL location. Working hours are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. This position reports into our office in Champaign, IL location. Local candidates preferred. However, we may consider hybrid/remote work arrangements.

Typical pay for this position is $130,000-$140,000 annually. The final offer for this position will be based on the unique experience and qualifications of the candidate selected.

The Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) Developer is responsible to design, build, and operate enterprise integration scenarios that connect Oracle Cloud Applications and third-party platforms. In this role you will own the full integration lifecycle, from analysis and design through development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and ongoing support. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on experience with OIC integrations, processes, and visual builder applications, and will combine that with a clear understanding of integration patterns, API management, and Oracle Cloud Applications data models.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop integration flows in Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) connecting Oracle Cloud Applications (ERP, SCM, OM, Financials, WMS) with on-premises and third-party systems.
  • Build app-driven and scheduled orchestrations, including complex mappings, error handling, and recovery flows.
  • Configure and operate a wide range of OIC adapters (REST, SOAP, FTP, Salesforce, payment platforms, custom).
  • Develop process automation flows using OIC Process Cloud Service for human-centric workflows.
  • Build Visual Builder Cloud Service (VBCS) applications integrated with OIC and Oracle Cloud Applications.
  • Implement API management strategies, including security policies, throttling, and developer portals.
  • Design robust error-handling and notification patterns, including retries, escalation, and resubmission workflows.
  • Optimize performance of high-volume integrations through batching, parallelism, and asynchronous patterns.
  • Collaborate with Oracle Cloud Applications functional teams to align integrations with business processes.
  • Provide production support, including incident response and root-cause analysis.
  • Maintain comprehensive, current technical documentation — including architecture diagrams, design decisions, configuration references, runbooks, and operational procedures — so that the system remains supportable, auditable, and easy to onboard new engineers onto over time.
  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to internal integration patterns and standards.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Five or more years of integration experience, with strong hands-on time in Oracle Integration Cloud.

  • Experience with REST and SOAP web service development.
  • Working knowledge of Visual Builder Cloud Service (VBCS) and Process Cloud Service.
  • Familiarity with API management concepts and Oracle API Platform.
  • Strong scripting skills (Groovy, JavaScript) and SQL.
  • Experience with security standards (OAuth2, SAML).
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred

  • Oracle Cloud Platform Application Integration certification.

  • Familiarity with event-driven integration on OCI.
  • Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD patterns for OIC content.
