What is remote audio book recording?

Remote audio book recording is the process of narrating and recording audiobooks from a location outside of a traditional studio, typically from home. Narrators use professional microphones, audio interfaces, and recording software to ensure high-quality audio. The recorded files are then edited and submitted digitally to publishers or audiobook platforms. This setup allows narrators to work flexibly and collaborate with clients worldwide without needing to commute to a physical studio.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote audio book recording professional?

To thrive in Remote Audio Book Recording, you need strong vocal performance abilities, clear diction, script interpretation skills, and experience with audio editing, often supported by a background in acting or voiceover work. Familiarity with digital audio workstations (DAWs) like Audacity or Adobe Audition, quality microphones, and soundproofing techniques is essential. Attention to detail, self-motivation, and time management are crucial soft skills for meeting deadlines and maintaining consistency without in-person oversight. These skills ensure high-quality, engaging audio content and efficient remote production for publishers and listeners.

What are some common challenges faced by remote audiobook narrators, and how can they be addressed?

Remote audiobook narrators often encounter challenges such as maintaining consistent audio quality, managing vocal strain during long recording sessions, and meeting publisher deadlines independently. To address these issues, it's important to invest in a quiet, acoustically treated recording space and quality equipment. Regular vocal warm-ups and breaks can help prevent fatigue, while organizing a clear recording and editing schedule ensures timely delivery. Collaboration with editors and producers is typically done via email or project management tools, so strong communication skills are also essential.

Inside Sales Manager -- Remote, Build and Lead a Phone Sales Team

SIXPAC

Salt Lake City, UT • Remote

$60K - $115K/yr

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO

This job post has expired today. Applications are no longer accepted.

Job description

Sales Manager — Remote

SIXPAC sells business software and payment processing to small business owners: gyms, martial arts schools, personal trainers, salons and spas, youth sports academies, specialty retail.

You will build and run a team of up to ten inside sales representatives. You will also still carry a bag.

This is a player-coach role, and we mean it literally. You carry a personal quota at half a full representative's number, and you develop and manage the team. Most of your income comes from your team's production rather than your own. But you sell, because you cannot coach a motion you have stopped running.

Leading the team

•   Lead the daily team meeting and training workshop

•   Review recorded calls weekly with every representative and deliver specific coaching

•   Monitor daily activity standards and address shortfalls the day they happen, not at month end

•   Run pipeline reviews and verify CRM accuracy and stage integrity

•   Join demos and closing calls with ramping representatives

•   Interview, onboard and train new representatives

•   Document performance issues, deliver strikes and administer improvement plans

•   Ensure every representative submits an accurate weekly time record and delivers the call recording disclosure on every call

Carrying your own number

•   100 outbound dials per day and 1 demo set per day

•   Personal quota of 4 signed accounts per month at maturity, half a full representative's quota

•   Run your own prospecting, demos and closes

•   Handle escalated and complex opportunities alongside your representatives

•   Support statement collection and savings analysis on larger accounts

What you are accountable for

Your team, in aggregate — not just your own production:

Team standard

Target

Representatives at or above activity standard

100%

Team quota attainment (aggregate signed vs. aggregate quota)

80% or better

Team show rate on set demos

50% minimum

Representatives reaching Month 7 full quota

30% of cohort or better

Weekly recorded call review completed per representative

100%

Sustained team underperformance is grounds for removal from the manager role, independent of how well you personally sell.

How you get paid

•   $52,000 guaranteed salary. $1,000 every week, paid regardless of hours worked or production, never reduced for missing quota.

•   Personal commissions at the same rates as a Sales Representative on accounts you sign

•   Personal residuals on your own book, tiered and grandfathered

•   25% override on everything your direct reports earn — their commissions, their bonuses and their residuals

•   Each week you receive the greater of the $1,000 salary or your total commissions and overrides

The salary is a floor, not a ceiling, and it is never recovered from future earnings. Because residuals are grandfathered by tier, your personal book and your override base both compound as your team's books mature. At most team sizes the guarantee stops mattering inside your first year.

You must sign at least one new active account in a month to receive override earnings for that month.

Two things to know before you apply

Team size drives your income and your quota. If your team drops below three representatives, your personal quota rises to the full representative number and stays there until the team is rebuilt. A manager with one or two reps does not have enough team to manage full time.

This is a phone organization. Your representatives make 200 dials a day. You make 100. If you are looking for a management role where you stop selling, this is not it.

Schedule

First 90 days: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Mountain Time. A fixed schedule during your own ramp keeps you aligned with training and team coverage.

After 90 days: flexible, provided you maintain coverage for your team's working hours and your own calling reaches merchants during their open hours.

Remote requirements

100% remote, no office. We supply the software, phone system and CRM. You supply a quiet dedicated workspace, a computer that runs our CRM and video conferencing, a quality headset, and reliable high-speed internet.

What we are looking for

•   Demonstrated success in a full-cycle sales role, preferably phone-based B2B into small business

•   Ability to coach specifically rather than generally — diagnose from a recorded call and prescribe a fix

•   Comfort holding people accountable to numbers without damaging the relationship

•   Organized enough to run a team's pipeline and your own at the same time

•   Sound judgment on when to coach a representative and when to exit one

Prior management experience is preferred but not required. Prior sales success is required.

Benefits

•   Medical — SIXPAC pays 50% of the employee premium

•   Dental and vision available

•   Six paid holidays

•   Paid time off and sick days, increasing with years of service

To apply

Apply through ZipRecruiter. Employment is contingent on a background check and on eligibility to work in the United States. SIXPAC is an equal opportunity employer.
