Job Description:

L3Harris Technologies is looking for a Field Technician for the Company's Field Services organization supporting the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).ย  This role will be responsible for field support in DC and Atlanta airspaces. Field technician will support FAA contracts FTI, ADSB, DCNS and any other FSG programs.ย 

Essential Functions:

  • ย  ย  Good working knowledge of cable connectors and replacement, such as RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25, V.35, RS-449
  • ย  ย  Haveย an excellent working knowledge of fiber, working knowledge of Multiplexes,ย Network topology, Frame Relay, Fractional T-1, SONET Network Technology,ย ATM, Private Line, Voice and Data applications
  • ย  ย  Goodย working knowledge of power testing, AC and DC including 3 Phase AC. Familiar with configuration and operation of the 24VDC & 48 VDC powerย supplies.
  • ย  ย  Experience with network and circuit testing with T1 Testing Specifications, DS3ย Testing, Digital Testing (BERT), and Analog VG Testing within Bell Coreย Standards.
  • ย  ย  Working knowledge and usage of various network test equipment:ย  JDSU HST, Ameritech AM5XT, Sage 935, Digital Oscilloscope, Halcyon 704A, Para-scope or other T1/DS3 Test sets.
  • ย  ย  IP Based knowledge with experience configuring routers and switches
  • Experience installing equipment racks (wallmount, raised floors, concrete, etc.)
  • Travel to FAA site locations within a 3 hour drive from Charlotte NC area
  • ย  ย  Candidate must be able to obtain FAA Security Clearance from Public Trust background investigation

Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Possessย and maintain a valid Driver's License, and a satisfactory driving record,ย as conditions of initial (and continued) employment.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C. area, Denver, or NYC areas is $30.04/hr - $56.00/hr.ย  The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state,ย Cleveland Ohio, Vermont and Virginia is $26.20/hr - $48.79/hr. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience andย geographic location.
