What is a remote artist?

Remote Artists are creative professionals who produce visual art, illustrations, or graphic designs while working from a location outside of a traditional office or studio, typically from home. They collaborate with clients or companies using digital tools and communication platforms to complete projects. Remote Artists can work in various fields, such as gaming, advertising, publishing, and entertainment, offering flexibility and access to a global job market.

What does a remote artist do?

Remote artist positions usually refer to graphic designers and animators. They work for technology companies, production studios, marketing firms, and other industries that need visual effects. Remote artists develop images and designs in a way that is unique to them, using a personal creative process to complete their project. Instead of traveling to the office daily, remote artists work from home or another location outside of the office with internet connectivity. Most remote artists utilize computer graphic applications to draw and design different projects. Specific job duties vary, depending on the company and industry. But some common projects that remote artists work on include advertising campaigns, animation or other eye-catching images on websites, and movie posters.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote artist?

To thrive as a Remote Artist, you need strong artistic ability, proficiency in design principles, and a solid portfolio showcasing your work, often backed by a relevant degree or equivalent experience. Familiarity with digital art tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Procreate, or 3D modeling software is typically required. Excellent time management, self-motivation, and clear communication skills help remote artists collaborate effectively with clients and teams. These skills and qualities are crucial for delivering high-quality creative work, meeting deadlines, and succeeding in a remote, often independent environment.

How do remote artists typically collaborate with teams and clients despite working from different locations?

Remote Artists often use digital collaboration tools such as Slack, Zoom, and project management platforms like Trello or Asana to stay connected with their teams and clients. Regular virtual meetings, clear documentation, and shared digital workspaces help facilitate feedback and ensure alignment on creative projects. Successfully navigating time zone differences and maintaining proactive communication are common challenges, but these are often addressed through flexible scheduling and setting clear expectations. This collaborative environment allows Remote Artists to contribute creatively while enjoying the flexibility of remote work.

Ubique Group is a digital-forward, consumer-driven powerhouse featuring an expansive portfolio of furniture brands. With over 20 years of building multiple brands from inception to success, Ubique Group offers a wide assortment of furniture solutions and furnishings that balance form, function, and style. At Ubique Group, our fingers aren't just on the pulse of the marketplace; we anticipate it, transforming the typical point-and-click shopping experience into an inspired, rewarding consumer journey.

Ubique Group is more than a company; we are a community of passionate, hard-working, and supportive people who believe in our business and each other. We champion our employees' individual capabilities and the team's collective power, and we extend that commitment to the families and communities around us.

About this role:

The Production Artist brings product image production in-house, giving the Brand Marketing team direct control over the quality, speed, and customization of our visual content. Working across our furniture brands, this role produces the image stacks, enhanced content, and marketplace-ready assets that power our product listings, turning photography and renders into polished, on-brand imagery at scale. This role joins Ubique's Brand & Content Marketing team, a collaborative, high-impact group that brings strategic initiatives from concept to execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce and scale product image stacks and silo images from photography and 3D/CAD renders across the brand portfolio.
  • Scale enhanced / A+ content and marketplace assets for Amazon, DTC, and retail syndication.
  • Retouch, composite, color-correct, and prepare assets to brand and channel specifications.
  • Maintain and apply production templates, standards, and file governance to keep output consistent and efficient.
  • Partner with the Graphic Designer and AI Content Specialist to scale production and streamline workflows.
  • Ensure dimensional accuracy, brand consistency, and quality control on every asset.
  • Manage assets through the content pipeline, hitting launch and syndication deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of production art, e-commerce imaging, or digital design experience.
  • Expert-level Adobe Photoshop skills; proficiency across the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, including dimensional and color accuracy.
  • Experience preparing product imagery for e-commerce and marketplace channels.
  • Comfortable working from templates and maintaining production standards at volume.
  • Familiarity with product photography workflows and PIM / syndication tools (e.g., Salsify) a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Benefits

We offer a competitive benefits package that includes:

  • Fully remote position.
  • No waiting period for medical, dental, and vision benefits - Available on day one
  • Company-paid life insurance and employee assistance program for all employees
  • 401K with company match
  • Employee discount on Ubique Group products
  • Free office chair for remote employees
  • Ubique offers 9 paid holidays plus 1 floating holiday per year and up to 18 Accrued PTO days per year.

Ubique Group is an equal-opportunity employer. We seek to employ the most qualified individuals for all our roles.
