Job description

At Build With Altitude, we believe that trust, loyalty, knowledge, and industry experience aren’t just words - they’re how we work every day.

Join us in building spaces that help financial institutions - and the people they serve - reach new heights. Our growing team is seeking an Architectural Designer. Although this job is remote, we are primarily seeking candidates who reside in PA or VA for regional travel occasionally to client locations.

Contributes to the planning, design, documentation, and execution of financial services projects from initial concept through construction. Develops and coordinates architectural drawings, technical specifications, permitting requirements, and consultant deliverables to ensure projects meet client objectives, regulatory requirements, and construction standards. Partners with internal design, construction, and project management teams to deliver practical, efficient, and constructible solutions while supporting project schedules, budgets, and quality expectations. Applies knowledge of commercial building systems, codes, and construction methods to help create innovative environments that support the evolving needs of financial institutions.

Specifically, this role will:

  • Contribute to and help lead the architectural design process from concept through construction documentation for projects within the financial services sector.
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, and internal project teams to understand operational, functional, regulatory, and facility requirements while developing practical and constructible design solutions.
  • Independently manage time and workload to meet project deadlines and commitments, while coordinating with project managers, architects, designers, and construction professionals.
  • Prepare, develop, and coordinate architectural plans, elevations, details, specifications, and construction documents using industry-standard design software.
  • Apply knowledge of building codes, accessibility requirements, permitting processes, life safety standards, and commercial building systems throughout project development.
  • Coordinate project information with engineers, consultants, contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies to support successful project execution.
  • Participate in design reviews, client meetings, and project presentations to communicate design intent, technical solutions, and project requirements.
  • Support construction administration activities, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, documenting field observations, and assisting with issue resolution during construction.
  • Support project schedules, budgets, standards, constructability reviews, and quality control efforts throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Research and apply industry best practices, emerging technologies, and evolving financial services facility trends to support innovative and efficient project solutions.
  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement and growth of our company.

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Architectural Technology, or a related field required. Professional licensure is not required, but is a plus.
  • Five (5+) years experience, in architectural design, construction documentation, commercial projects, or related fields, highly preferred.
  • Experience with financial institutions, retail, commercial, or mixed-use projects is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD required. Experience with rendering, visualization, BIM coordination, or related software is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of building codes, accessibility requirements (ADA), life safety standards, and permitting processes.
  • Ability to prepare and coordinate architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience coordinating with consultants, engineers, contractors, and project teams throughout the design and construction process.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in a design-build environment with new construction, renovations, tenant improvements, and facility modernization projects is highly preferred.
  • Architectural licensure, pursuit of licensure, LEED accreditation, WELL certification, or other relevant professional credentials are a plus.
  • Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
  • Self-starter comfortable managing tasks independently while collaborating with a remote and multidisciplinary team.
  • Possess core company competencies of trust, loyalty, knowledge and expertise.

  • If you’re ready to bring your expertise to a team that values trust, collaboration, and expertise, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today and help us continue to Build With Altitude.
  • Enjoy fully covered employee medical, dental, and vision benefits, basic life and short-term disability insurances, a supportive work-life balance, and the opportunity to shape the future of a fast-growing company.
