We are currently seeking a Python Backend Developer - Hybrid/Onsite to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina (US-NC), United States (US).

Python Backend Developer

About the Role

We are seeking a Python Backend Developer to build and support scalable, high-performance applications and APIs for enterprise solutions. In this role, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop secure, reliable software, integrate enterprise systems, and contribute throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications, APIs, and automation solutions using Python.
• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs, databases, and third-party services.
• Write clean, efficient, reusable, and well-documented code following software engineering best practices.
• Perform unit testing, debugging, performance tuning, and troubleshooting to ensure application reliability and scalability.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
• Partner with Product, QA, DevOps, and business teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Support application deployments, production releases, and ongoing system enhancements.
• Monitor application performance, resolve production issues, and implement continuous improvements.
• Maintain technical documentation and ensure adherence to coding, security, and development standards.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience developing applications with Python.
• 2+ years of experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• 2+ years of experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
• Experience using Git for version control and collaborative software development.
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Experience with one or more Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
• Experience with unit testing, debugging, and building production-quality software.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or React.
• Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Redis.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture, DevOps practices, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Experience mentoring junior developers or leading small technical initiatives.
• Python or cloud platform certifications are a plus.

Travel

• Minimal travel required (up to 10%), based on project and business needs.

Pay Transparency

Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this remote role is $ 87,120 -$181,500. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications.
