We are seeking an experienced Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR/ODS) to support a leading healthcare organization in a fully remote capacity. This role involves abstracting complex oncology cases, maintaining high-quality cancer registry data, and ensuring compliance with national oncology standards.
Candidates must have strong experience with complex cancer registry abstraction and be comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Abstract and code cancer cases accurately using national oncology standards.
- Handle complex oncology cases, including:
- Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) treatments
- Multiple facility abstracts
- Rare and complex primary sites
- Review patient medical records and maintain complete cancer registry data.
- Ensure compliance with SEER, AJCC, CoC, and NAACCR guidelines.
- Meet quality standards with a minimum 90% accuracy and an average goal of 95% accuracy.
- Complete all required user-defined registry fields.
- Participate in quality assurance reviews.
Required Qualifications
- CTR (Certified Tumor Registrar) or ODS Certification (Required)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Tumor Registry experience
- Experience abstracting complex oncology cases.
- Strong knowledge of:
- SEER
- AJCC Staging
- CoC Standards
- NAACCR
- ICD-O Coding
- Associate's Degree required (Bachelor's preferred).
- Must have a reliable PC and dual-monitor setup for remote work.
Experience with the following oncology applications (preferred):
- OncoLog
- Cerner
- OncoEMR
- AllScripts
- ARIA
- MOSAIQ
