Job Description:

The Regional Clinical Director (RCD) provides clinical leadership, operational oversight, and regulatory guidance to multiple assisted living and memory care communities within an assigned region. This role partners closely with Regional Directors of Operations, Executive Directors, and Wellness Directors to ensure delivery of high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, strong clinical outcomes, and operational consistency across communities. The RCD serves as both a strategic leader and hands-on clinical resource, supporting community teams through coaching, auditing, performance improvement initiatives, survey readiness, clinical systems implementation, and resident care oversight.

This position requires frequent travel throughout the assigned region.

This is a remote position supporting the following states: SC, NC, MD, VA, MA, TN

Responsibilities:

Clinical Oversight & Resident Care:

  • Provide regional oversight of resident care and clinical operations across assisted living and memory care communities.
  • Ensure communities maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and clinical standards.
  • Support communities in maintaining quality resident outcomes, including fall reduction, medication management, infection prevention, wound management, and hospitalization reduction initiatives.
  • Review resident care trends, incident reports, and clinical metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and risk mitigation.
  • Provide guidance and support related to resident assessments, service plans, acuity management, and changes in condition.
  • Partner with community leadership to evaluate the appropriateness of admissions and ongoing resident retention.

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Coach, mentor, and develop Wellness Directors and clinical leaders to strengthen leadership capability and accountability.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, retention, and succession planning efforts for community clinical teams.
  • Foster collaborative partnerships between operations and clinical leadership to drive strong community performance and resident satisfaction.
  • Lead clinical education initiatives and ensure teams are trained on policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Assist with performance management, corrective action, and development planning as needed.

Regulatory Compliance & Survey Readiness:

  • Conduct routine clinical audits and mock surveys to ensure ongoing survey readiness.
  • Lead and support communities during state surveys, complaint investigations, and regulatory visits.
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans related to survey findings or identified clinical gaps.
  • Monitor compliance related to medication management, documentation, infection control, resident rights, and life safety requirements.

Operational & Financial Partnership:

  • Collaborate with regional and community leadership to support occupancy goals while ensuring residents’ clinical needs can be safely met.
  • Partner with operations leaders to balance resident care quality, staffing effectiveness, and financial performance.
  • Review staffing models, labor utilization, and clinical resource allocation to support quality care delivery.
  • Assist communities in implementing company initiatives, clinical programs, and technology platforms.

Quality Improvement & Strategic Initiatives:

  • Analyze regional clinical performance data and implement action plans to improve outcomes.
  • Support implementation and optimization of electronic health record systems and other clinical technologies.
  • Lead regional initiatives focused on operational excellence, resident experience, and clinical consistency.
  • Participate in strategic planning and organizational initiatives to support company growth and performance.

Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing required.
  • Multi-site senior living leadership experience is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of leadership experience in assisted living, memory care, long-term care, or senior housing.
  • Strong knowledge of state assisted living regulations and survey processes.
  • Demonstrated experience leading clinical teams and driving performance improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to travel frequently throughout assigned region
