What is The Role:

We are looking for a Video Editor to join the video team at Elastic. Do you enjoy and excel at the craft of video editing? If you are a strong storyteller across a range of styles, possess excellent color grading and sound mixing skills, and can seamlessly integrate motion graphics while collaborating with animation/motion partners, we want to hear from you! As an integral teammate with strong interpersonal and organizational skills, you will be proactive in gathering feedback and running multiple projects.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Visual Storytelling: Craft compelling visual narratives, ensuring alignment with the brand, the video's message and goals.
  • Working on a variety of project types: Sizzle videos, multiple ongoing scripted and unscripted series, livestream direction, product explainers, technical walkthroughs, webinar and event recaps, social media cutdowns, thought leadership content and more.
  • Color Grading & Sound Mixing: Make our videos look and sound phenomenal.
  • Motion Graphics Integration: Integrate motion graphics into video projects, working closely with internal partners and external vendors.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with video editors, producers, and designers.
  • Feedback Integration: Proactively gather and implement feedback from team members and collaborators.
  • Project Management: Stay on top of multiple projects, managing editing contractors, and ensuring projects are completed on time.
  • Asset Management: Organize and manage assets, project files, and archives efficiently.
  • Quality Control: Conduct thorough reviews and quality checks to ensure a high standard of visual and technical execution and the Elastic brand.

What You Bring:

  • Experience: 5+ years of work.
  • Technical Skills: High proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve or comparable tool.
  • Creative Vision: Strong storytelling abilities with a fluency in design and animation.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent sense of pacing, color, sound and brand consistency.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage digital files across multiple projects and timelines.
  • Teamwork: You are a great teammate with strong interpersonal skills and respond well to feedback.
  • Proactive: Ability to uphold responsiveness and collaboration in a remote environment. You are an organized self-starter with excellent communication skills.

Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary. This role does not have a variable compensation component.

The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below. In select locations (including Seattle WA, Los Angeles CA, the San Francisco Bay Area CA, and the New York City Metro Area), an alternate range may apply as specified below.

These ranges represent the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the ranges may be modified in the future.

An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
