Position Overview

We are seeking an Expert Software Engineer to support a mission-critical national security program in Herndon, Virginia. This position offers the opportunity to develop and maintain enterprise software solutions that support high-priority Intelligence Community (IC) missions.

The successful candidate will work closely with technical teams and government stakeholders to design, develop, maintain, and enhance secure software applications while supporting ongoing operations and maintenance (O&M) activities. This role requires a strong software engineering background, experience with enterprise infrastructure, and the ability to solve complex technical challenges in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze functional business applications and design specifications to develop software solutions.
  • Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain new and existing software applications.
  • Troubleshoot software issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Develop software according to technical specifications and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to resolve software defects and operational issues.
  • Respond to customer requests, enhancements, and improvement initiatives.
  • Develop technical documentation, block diagrams, logic flowcharts, reports, and briefings.
  • Maintain software version control and baseline documentation.
  • Develop and manage project schedules and timelines.
  • Coordinate project certification and accreditation activities with customer security organizations.
  • Research, test, and validate software patches and system updates.
  • Train end users on system functionality and maintenance procedures.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to software development teams.
  • Participate in software lifecycle activities including development, operations, and maintenance.

Required QualificationsExperience
  • Minimum 9 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
    • Equivalent professional experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • Experience developing software for enterprise environments supporting government or Intelligence Community customers.
  • Experience coordinating Certification & Accreditation (C&A) activities.
  • Experience authoring technical documentation, reports, and customer briefings.
  • Experience supporting software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) processes.
  • Experience supporting multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience supporting multiple Intelligence Community organizations.
