TITLE: Regional Sales Director (RSD)
DEPARTMENT: Sales amp; Marketing
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
RATE RANGE: 85k/Yr - 128k/Yr
REPORTS TO: V.P. of Sales amp; Marketing
SUPERVISES: No
LOCATION: Remote/Hybrid servicing the Western/Northwestern US Market
Summary of Responsibilities: The Regional Sales Director (RSD) will develop sales and marketing plans and strategies for agents in their assigned regions. The RSD will also assist in the implementation of these plans and follow up with agents to ensure that specific sales goals and objectives are met. The RSD is responsible for the overall sales growth and business development of the agents in their region.
Essential Functions:
  • Develop sales and marketing plans and strategies for each agent.
  • Communicate regularly with each agent in region on all sales, marketing and business development issues and concerns.
  • Assist with the implementation of agent specific sales and marketing plans.
  • Identify specific accounts and opportunities as targets.
  • Help grow overall agent sales – market segment goals to be determined at the beginning of each year.
  • Assist agents pre-qualify and hire sales staff utilizing the Predictive Index (PI).
  • Provide regular communication to Wheaton staff regarding field activity and agent issues.
  • Assist with recruiting new agents when requested.
  • Provide sales and marketing training during new agent orientation and/or on-boarding time frame.
  • Build influential partnering relationships with both agent owners and agent sales staff.
  • Attend industry trade shows and exhibits as well as state association meetings as requested.
  • Help maintain existing and new account relationships.
  • Create content and present at network events both in person and online.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Five years of industry experience or proven success in development and implementation of channel management, strategic business initiatives and sales training.
REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline.
SAFETY HAZARDS OF THE JOB: This position is a remote position with minimal hazards. **If the employee lives within 50 miles of Indianapolis, this will be a hybrid position** General in-office working conditions with heavy phone volume and requires extensive travel up to 40-50% of the time.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Demonstrate ability to manage extensive volumes of work. Ability to demonstrate solid decision making, analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to exercise sound independent judgment at a high level of maturity. Ability to work in a stressful and fast-paced environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Must have the ability to sit at a desk and in front of a computer for long periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Must have the ability to handle stress. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand and walk. Specific vision abilities required by this job include appropriate vision needed to read a computer screen, paper forms and correspondence.
